Best Place To Put A Boat In

We've got some folks staying at our place in a few weeks and they have a boat. It's 22 ft, some type of cabin cruiser, 5000 lb boat. They want to take it to the Gulf and I'm not sure what else they're requirements are. What is the closest place to put in considering they'll be staying in the Seacrest area?

    TIA

I would think that a boat that size would best be launched at Joe's Bayou in Destin or over at Grand Lagoon in PCB. I think that the ramps here in Walton County are too shallow for a boat that size, but I'm not positive. (I'm assuming it's an I/O, probably a 3' draft.) My experience is with my flats boat, which will run in less than a foot of water and launch darn near anywhere.

Cessna Landing, located on Hwy 393 may work.

The Cessena Landing area is very shallow and you will need to navigate very carefully. It can be done but you need to know the area.

Very slow and stay in the center. Make sure you GPS your route because getting back can get weird especially if late in the afternoon. I have a wild story on this one one day I will share. Point is boats do not do well running ashore !

Thanks guys. I just got an email saying he decided to not bring the boat down because he wanted to spend more time with the kids while they're on break.

    Thanks for the responses.
