Please remember Doug (D&K)and family in Prayer

Please keep Doug and his family in your prayers. His father passed away today and he was able to spend his last hours with him. This is Doug's first loss....and the first is always the hardest...none are easy.

He is in Pensacola and torn between staying for his mother and coming home for Christmas tomorrow morning. The weather is so bad and the drain he's been under makes me NOT want him to drive home tonight.

What a strange Holiday season this has been. Thank you for your comforting words and kindness. I have copied the poem that was sent to IBD for my own family and friends and plan to read it on Tuesday or Wednesday. I pray God gives me the strength.

Bless you on Christmas Eve tell Doug that we are all thinking of you guys and glad that he was able to be with his dad may he rest in peace.

Kathy, may God be with you and Doug as you begin to deal with this sad loss. Being able to spend some of those last hours with his Dad sounds like a real blessing for Doug, and we will keep him in our prayers.

Wow! It seems like we are losing many people in our lives lately. Let's remember that this can also be a time to come together and celebrate the beautiful, yet fragile, lives of our loved ones who are no longer walking on the Earth beside side us. Blessings to you and your family, Doug.

I'm sorry to hear about Doug's loss (and his family's loss). It must have been special (as well as so sad) to spend those final hours with his father. Though I don't know Doug personally, it feels like we're all neighbors on SoWal.com and anyone's loss is in some way the community's loss. My thoughts and prayers are with Doug and his family.

OH, I am so saddened by this loss...too much of this in SoWal right now. I know that a very dear friend lost her dad just recently, and she is a lovely person. (God bless Alabama lady!!)

I am so sorry about Dougs father. I know what he is going through. I can not wait to come in and eat at the rest. I promise that we will meet before the end of January. Please let him know that I am thinking of him at this time.

Thank You All! I can't begin to say how much you all mean to me. Your words have comforted my heart. It has been so helpful to have new and old friends contact me through SoWal.

I wish I could say more, but I am totally drained. His Father's wake will be tomorrow night and the funeral Thursday morning.

I wish everyone my love and God's peace to your heart. As a community we are all in it together this year.
