Anyone see the American Idol auditions last night from Minnesota. These auditions are hilarious. Saw a few hopefuls last night but a lot of embarrassing auditions also. Tonight they are going to be in Seattle. Simon claims Seattle had the worst auditions of all the cities. Memphis will be on next week.

oh yeah. that one girl who sang like the lion in wizard of oz was just plain insane!!! i love this show. not popular with others in my household, but hey, we've got three tv's!

Yeah, she was, but she was right on with the imitation of the lion. The guy that came out in the red, white and blue Uncle Sam type outfit was a major embarrassment. I was cracking up laughing. Can't wait to see what Seattle has tonight.

Paula's problem is not alcohol I don't think. God, she's a real mess. I mean, she was practically lying down on the table. I noticed none of the other 3 asked her opinion on anyone. It was bizarre how they almost acted as if she was invisible! She did have an awful, horrible cold last night tho.

Quite entertaining tonight!! I am a amazed with the self-esteem of the contestants. They have no idea how little talent they have. I could not do that while UTF, muchless sober!

I expect good things from Memphis.....minus the Elvis stuff.

that's what mr. dd said. he hates the show, but amazingly, he watched almost all of it.
he was most concerned with the lack of/shape of... teeth.

I totally agree. Why would someone allow his child to be so out of touch with reality? Some of the people made me sad.

I did enjoy the brother/sister. They will make it more interesting, but it might cause family strife later.

We always end up playing 'Spot the Theatre Kid" in the audition rounds. Both the cowardly lion girl, and the red guy who slaughtered BoRhap in Seattle were so faking it all in the name of performance art.

OK tonight was a hoot. Mr. IBD has never watched it before and he laughed and laughed. I am sure alot of it is for "good" tv but man it is funny......

I think you have a good point about the show being "embellished". I know a family that signed up to be on "Honey I Am Killing the Kids". To hear the child speak of how they "create" situtations let me know first hand that everything isn't what it seems....not as if I always believe what I see or read in the media. However, the child is very disillusioned with the process. I cannot wait to see her on tv...she is such a sweet and personable girl.

...parts of last night should be retitled..'American Psycho". My heart hurts for some of those people. Is there a cure for delusional behavior? For the record...Mr. Kitty has to put his hands over his ears and leave the room when he hears some of the singing.

To hear the child speak of how they "create" situtations let me know first hand that everything isn't what it seems....not as if I always believe what I see or read in the media. The daughter of one of our neighbors auditioned for AI and she said exactly that. This girl has a good voice (though it's more geared for opera than pop) and they weren't interested. They were looking for "stories." Otherwise known as the nuts cases we've been seeing the last two nights.

"Red" was interviewed on Star 94 this morning in Atlanta. They called him in Seattle and he is soooo for real. Sad. He just THAT slow that he has no clue he is being made fun of. He said "well they passed me through two rounds so I thought what the heck." Isn't that mean of AI. Those poor people who don't know any better!

I caught a news story on "Idol" last night- about it being such a mean show-and I agree that it has become such a cruel circus. What is the point in having such obviously untalented people be on the show, other than to point fingers and laugh at them? I guess you could argue that it is their 3 seconds of fame, but I still don't see the point when I am sure there were plenty of people with real talent that could have been in their place, and actually competing, instead of being the butt of the judges' jokes. I think the worst part is being made fun of by people like those judges!

I have never been an Idol fan for this reason- it is just too ugly at the beginning of every season.

Sorry for my rant- back to regularly scheduled Idol programming.
