    random tv thoughts....

i just watch "tory and dean inn love" i must say i liked it. i found tory surprising likable, i never really cared that much for her, but she seems to have become a nice person - i wonder if she is really like that ? her husband seems nice, reminds me a lot of gene simmons' role on his family jewels show, he just sits back and shakes his head. i believe i will have to keep dvr'ing this show to see where it goes.

i am now watching "the last of the mohicans" for about the 2000th time. every time i watch it i fall in love with daniel day lewis - again. what is it about him with long hair, all sweaty in leather

i watched the premier of "intervention" for those who watch it has moved to friday nights now. this week the kid was an oxycontin addict. and my favorite interventionist ken was on there - hey, i am addicted to ken, maybe i could be on the show...

I missed the Tori show...remember that is the one Kimmi will appear on! I'll have to catch a rerun.

audie...I watch Intervention as well. I liked it on Sunday night, but will try to remember to see it on Friday. Thanks for the reminder.

I watched Intervention last night (why it was on last night since it's been moved from Sundays to Fridays, I don't know) but I saw the oxycontin episode. It just broke my heart when I saw this teenage boy with his 3 friends, score some dope and return to his house to shoot up while his p's where at church. Man oh man. Sad.
And I always think of you when Ken is on!!!!!!!! (He's personally not my type. Daniel Day Lewis is tho.)

i always feel so bad for the parents and family because i know if my sis was in that spot i would be an enabler who gives money shelter etc. what a tough thing to know you are just feeding their addiction, yet if you don't you know they're living on the streets doing god knows what.

Showtime's really picked it up with original series in the past couple of years. I can't wait until Dexter comes back for season two, and they've also got Weeds, Penn & Teller, and the tv version of This American Life.

I'm kinda like Tootsie in regards to knowing about TV shows. I'm fairly clueless.

    HOWEVER
I now realize how hooked I am on Jon Stewart's Daily Show. I can only watch the 7:30pm repeats from the night before, but I do watch it fairly regularly.
    Ditto Colbert Report.

And Audie, I *own* The Last of the Mohicans. I had rented it so much I decided that I owed it to myself to be able to see Daniel Day Lewis running down the mountainside in leather leggings whenever it pleased me to.

You go gull. Me too and dark haired men are not my cup of tea, but he just looks toooo goood in that movie.

I am clueless about TV with the exception of Monday night. I watch Prison Break and then 24, or I watch the Discovery or Travel Channel.

I am psyched about the new "Planet Earth" premiering this Sunday.
and I really wanted to see "Galapogos" which was supposed to be on last Sunday, but when I looked it for it, no where to be found?

Other than that, I sowal late at night, painting now, or working on a writing project after MANgo goes to sleep.

when and where is the Jon Stewart show? I've seen it but not in a long time. I would like tuning into this a few times a week.

I agree. There are times I can't watch either. I've had several close family tragedies similar to these and for some reason, it's therapeutic (I have no idea why). But I've had my son watch a few episodes and he's stated that he'll never do drugs.

i think this is a good idea to have your kids watch it. i agree with dbuck it is very depressing, but i think if more kids saw how low these poor addicts have fallen in life, it might curb their interest in drugs...

BECAUSE most of these kids and young adults in trouble on Intervention are not what our sheltered kids perceive them to be. Most come from stable families. It is depressing but also educational. Even Mr. JR is quite sheltered & naiive.

I guess what bothers me most is how these families can let a camera crew come in and record the whole thing.

Don't know if I could be that open about it either but I think they're trying to educate some? Maybe not tho. Maybe it's for the $$. I do know to begin a true intervention (Hazelden, etc.), some have to take out 2nd mortgages, use their life savings, etc.

Yes, I wondered if the production company was paying for the treatment in lieu of cash payment, I hope this is the case.
