In Georgia, I think the state min is 14, but if you are under 16, you have to have a work permit. Higher age requirements depending upon job, like dishwashers who wash sharp knives must be 16 (though rarely do restaurants follow that rule), and 18 to serve booze. Not sure about Florida laws regarding min age for workers. Not sure if this particular job has a certain age min requirement.

Very interesting. I know it varies with most states, but my 16 y.o. son finally found his first job ever today, after searching all week (his spring break). He tried all the usual places, local restaurants, mall retail, etc. The minimum hiring age in IL is 18. I mean, wtf? At that age, most kids will have graduated high school and going on to college. Most places told us that this is new this year for IL because of high insurance rates for youth. Anyway, he did get hired at Target (1 of only a handful that hires under 18) which he is very excited about. But in all honesty, that was about it. The library, our vet, you name it. Not sure about McDonalds or other fast food places and I'm in no way being insensitive to others but in our area, FF restaurants are not safe jobs.

So if we lived in the Sowal area, the Seaside Store wouldn've been exactly something he would've loved doing!
