I Got a New Pair of Glasses

And I love them!!!

I never in a million years thought I would say that. I'm as blind as a bat (okay, this is how blind: put your thumb on your nose and stretch out your index finger and beyond that point the print goes blurry). So you know the selection in the coke bottom lenses department has been kinda slim for the last few decades. Until now!

I got the coolest pair of tortoise shell glasses and all of a sudden I can actually go out in public wearing my eyeglasses. Yes, you heard right. Without making people blanch and faint when they look. Now that's progress.

My twenty year old said they make me look younger. And he wasn't even hedging for a favor from me when he said it so I know it must be true.

So the moral of the story is that if you have sub-par eyesight there is new hope on the horizon for you! Eyeglasses don't have to be the end of the world anymore.

I just got new glasses too. I pick them up tomorrow. I've never worn them even though I'v needed them They are progressive lens . I'm excit ed that they took my fav oversized pink sunshades and put precript.lense in them. Then I got another cool pair.

They sound like funn. I had to get a pair of glasses with prisms to correct my double vision. Like yours, the lenses are really thick, but found a pair of trendy glasses to offset thickness. Eyeglass choices are really cool these days. Can't wait to see pics!!Of England as well.

Definitely post pics, Merm. I'm picking up a new pair of glasses tomorrow, too. I never wear my glasses publicly either because they are so thick, but these are supposed to be thinner lenses and the frame should work - we shall see.

I didn't get a new pair of glasses.....but I did get my hair cut off.....I am free, free at last.

Do it! I always felt so frumpy in glasses and it's so liberating to be, well, trendy for the first time in my life. I feel so cutting edge in my new glasses. Who''da thunk it?

And yes, let the Kitty take you shopping so you can see the new you!

It's good to be excited about the small victories life hands us.

And talking about teeth. Merman had a temporary crown put in at the dentist yesterday. Since we'll be gone next week in England, his dentist very kindly made a clay impression of the tooth "just in case." I can imagine how funny this is will be going through airport security. But on the other hand, maybe they're seen it all already and they won't blink when confronted with clay teeth??
