Well I am not beyond it either! Shameless plugs that is!

Wanted to put a plug in here about all the wonderful products we sew for homes along the 30-A corridor. Our work speaks for itself! Thanks for taking the time to read my plug! Please pass our name around!

We work with Interior Designers or with clients directly ourself. Currently we work for several Interior Designers along 30-A. 30 years experience.

Hi there!

Yes, we do pick up & deliver. Although depends on the size, weight and location of the furniture. On some items we require that someone already have the item on ground level for us to pick up.

Plus we do charge a pick up & delivery fee.

Sometimes with slipcovers I cut and fit the furniture right on location. I charge extra to do this, as I have more trips to the beach to do so.

Thanks! I was having way too much fun one day while measuring and sewing... when I came up with Pleasure to Measure. After I began sewing home interiors I waited about six months for a good business name to drift my way.

I really enjoy what I do. I don't sit at a desk and do the same thing every day. I love the diversity of fabrics and projects. Really suits my creative nature!

Great that you're here. Right now the only place I know of is the one at Rosemary Beach. They do fantastic work but VERY expensive (I had two chairs done and my accountant, in reviewing my receipts for the taxes a few years ago said those must be amazing slipcovers...). Please pm me and let me know what on average you charge for a counch (regular size, 3 cushions) and a chair (e.g., soft chair with arms, one cushion). I realize you need a lot more information, but this is a start.

Also, how long does it take you to make the slipcover for a couch? For a chair?

It is really hard to give an estimate on slipcovers or upholstery without first seeing the actual furniture. But I will give some info here… Maybe it will help others too!

Many variables. Sorry for the long post… but I think this will help…

Most of the time we come out to a person’s house and actually measure the furniture to get an accurate view of just how much fabric you would need. We can bring fabric samples at the same time. Providing we know ahead of time what you are looking for fabric wise.

We do charge a service call for this service. We then give you an accurate cost to the cent. No overruns/etc.

We do also wash and dry all our slipcover fabrics prior to cutting and construction. This assures a nice fit for years to come after repeated washings.

We do lose a little yardage due to the shrinkage. But better now than later!

Estimates: On getting price estimates you need to first consider the quality of the furniture you are covering. If you are getting an estimate on a piece of furniture you bought on sale somewhere you can probably get another sale item cheaper than we can do the job for you.

But if you have quality higher-end furniture, than yes generally the cost is lower. Are you comparing apples and apples, or an apple to an orange!

If you love quality or if you have a piece of furniture you just love… it’s worth it to recover! But we do not do LazyBoy recliners


Furniture Style: The style of the furniture will affect the amount of fabric you will need. Furniture will vary from style to style on just how much fabric it will take to either slipcover or upholster. This is the main reason we like to measure your furniture, to make sure we order enough fabric the first time around.


Fabrics: The fabric yardage will also vary… as to if… you are going to use a solid color or a print.

Slipcovers generally will take a little more fabric than upholstery.

A print fabric always has a repeat. A repeat is where the fabric pattern begins to repeat the pattern all over again.

This repeat varies from fabric to fabric and is specific to each particular fabric. Repeats vary greatly in size. From an inch or two to 50” or more. A repeat will always cause you to need more fabric yardage. With a large repeat you may need 25% or more fabric.

Quality home interior products take the repeat into serious consideration. Such as furniture, drapes, pillows, etc.

You can either make or break a job into quality or mass production by the placement of this repeat, and making sure your cushions (etc) are all cut with the same print design element.


Slipcover Price Estimation:

Standard Club Chair varies $650.00 - 800.00 with fabric
Tight back or one loose back cushion + one seat cushion.
Solid fabric/canvas duck - about 12 yards fabric
(about one week- in shop)


Standard 86” Sofa – varies $1350.00 - $1500.00 with fabric
tight back/3 seat cushions or 3back cushions/3 seat cushions
(about two-three weeks in shop)
Solid fabric/canvas duck/about 20-24 yards.


Pick Up & Delivery:
1-hour Service Call – Consultation/measuring/etc – $75.00
Pick up & delivery $250.00
Same pick up fee for 2 Club Chairs + ottoman.
Sofa - Separate Pick up & delivery $250.00


Will refund service call charge on the total cost of job in estimate.

Prices above for estimation purposes only. Somestimes lower, sometimes higher. Depends on fabric used. Best way to get accurate estimate – have us come out and measure.

Same prices to upholster or slipcover.

Sometimes we cut and fit your furniture right in your home. Us not needing to bring your furniture back to our workshop. It does add extra cost to the grand total cost for us to do this.

Many 30-A clients who have their homes on a rental program like this option! Many clients have felt it worth the additional cost.

This option also depends on the style of your furniture, some pieces may be difficult to fit and may need to be brought to the workshop.

Recently did slipcovers for a very oversized Henredon sofa, club chair, and large ottoman. Total price ran about $4,200.00
(It was cut & fit on location)


Pick Up & Delivery:

1-hour Service Call – Consultation/measuring/etc – $75.00
Pick up & delivery $250.00
Same pick up fee for 2 Club Chairs + ottoman.
Sofa - Separate Pick up & delivery $250.00

We do pick up & deliver or you can bring the pieces to us.
Although, please do not bring us furniture without prior approval. Our shop space is limited to items currently being worked on.

On some items we require that someone already have the item to be picked up on ground level. We do not do stairs & heavy furniture.

We do have references for another moving crew if need be. Different pricing for them.

This helps very much, Ra'mona. It's good to have more people offering slipcovers along 30A. I love couches with slipcovers (we have one at our home and slipcovers on chairs at our cottage) and will do more over time. Best, Paula
