Few things excite me as much as FRIED CHICKEN! I only live a "stone's throw away" so this could have negative consequences.

Re: Chicken Place at Redfish Village
I'm not sure how it works here... (SoWal), but typically the certificate of occupancy gets held up until the closing on a "new" construction project. I have no idea about the details of this particular deal but have heard through "the grape vine" that the closing was the only hold up for the chicken place. I think they have had the place stocked for a couple of weeks. I ride by real slow every couple of days hoping they'll throw a box of fried chicken in my truck!

Re: Chicken Place at Redfish Village
Maybe the C.O. (Certificate of Occupancy) was held up due to something with a sub contractor or something like that. And I am sure that there are tons of folks trying to get a C.O. before the holidays and it could very well be that the county is backlogged right now. But when I worked in the construction industry the lack of a C.O. would hold up a closing, along with having the property lien-free, meaning they had not received all release of liens at the time of the closing. So it could be something as mundane as the bank/lender hasnt checked the mail lately or that FEDEX/UPS is running slow.

Or that the fire dept hasnt come out to check the sprinkler systems, they havent received their copy of the licenses, the employees dont have the proper training/documentation for food safety... the list could go on for a while without the owners being able to do anything about it.Last edited by jodiFL; 12-17-2007 at 10:45 AM.

Re: Chicken Place at Redfish Village
I heard that KFC filed an injunction on them because they used the words "Fried Chicken"
Now who would do that and in the South no less!

Re: Chicken Place at Redfish Village
The fried chicken meets my exacting quality standards; which have been established over many years, and thousands of actual field trials conducted under controlled conditions.

In short, I'm hooked!

I wanted to try them yesterday and they were closed when I got there. They close at 7pm by the way. They have a "Hot Biscuit" sign that reminds me of the "Hot Doughnut" sign at Krispy Kreme.
Just because you eat the burger doesn't mean you want to meet the cow!

Re: Chicken Place at Redfish Village
Oh, noooooo!
The last thing I need is yet another source for my all-time fav, fried chicken. I have never had Lee's chicken. KFC is good and Popeye's will do in a pinch, although I've never forgiven Popeye's for taking chicken livers off their menu. I am a big fan of the fried chicken at the deli at Publix (Seagrove). This girl's "last meal" would definitely be fried chicken with a side of deviled eggs, garlic cheese grits, field peas with snap beans, banana pudding. And a glass of watered down Welch's that I could pretend was a good pinot noir! Oh second thought, better stay out of trouble.

Lee's Famous Chicken (merged to other thread)
I just think everyone should stop by (redfish village) and get some lunch or take home from Lee's Famous Recipe. The owners are local and the food is very good. hours are 10-7 right now. they will be serving breakfast after the new year. try all of the types they have......good stuff!

Re: Lee's Famous Chicken
From an older thread.

RR - it's a fact that brand new fast food joints have tasty food when everything is clean and they bring in well-trained staff to teach the newbies. As soon as they leave town everything goes down hill from there.
Maybe Lee's won't since headquarters is in town.
