Re: Shots fired in Inlet Beach in apparent drug dispute
Does anybody know any more about this? For one thing, I think the news story got the street name wrong -- according to Google maps, there's a Wildwood Trail, but no such place as Wilderness Trail. Thanks...

Re: Shots fired in Inlet Beach in apparent drug dispute
Article in this morning's paper. My question is why is all this "stuff" found in the home of a 17 year old? WHERE are the parents?
PANAMA CITY BEACH — Bay and Walton county sheriff’s deputies believe a dispute over money or drugs led a Panama City Beach teenager to open fire on a group of teenagers and two adults Friday.
No one was killed in the incident on Wilderness Trail in Walton County, and the teenager was arrested later Friday at his home in Bay County.
Bay County Sheriff ’s Office deputies charged Robert Michael Dick, 17, of 21621 Sunset Ave., with possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Walton officials charged him with four counts of shooting into an occupied conveyance and aggravated assault with a motor vehicle.
A search of his vehicle and home revealed more than 30 grams of marijuana, six rifles, shotguns, an assault rifle, cases of ammunition, drug paraphernalia and the .22-caliber pistol Dick allegedly used in the shooting.
Lt. Keith Chamblee of the Walton County Sheriff’s Office said Dick had gone target shooting earlier in the day.
Dick and one of the six victims drove from Bay County to Wilderness Trail in Walton County to find three other teenagers and settle a dispute either about money or drugs, Chamblee said.
The Walton County teenagers reportedly saw Dick and called a parent to get them away from the area. The parent, a father, brought a friend, Chamblee said.
As the boys attempted to leave, Dick reportedly tried to run over the teenagers with his car. He missed, and the father threw a piece of wood at the vehicle, Chamblee said.
At that point, Chamblee said, Dick stopped his car, pulled out a gun and pointed it at his passenger. The passenger knocked it out of Dick’s hands and escaped the vehicle, Chamblee said.
Dick sped away, then stopped about 700 feet away and got out of his vehicle and fired toward the group at least eight times, Chamblee said. He missed each time, but one of the victims suffered cuts from shattered glass.A Local in Disguise

Thanks for the update. You're right about the kid's house and his parents. Unfortunately, this still doesn't pin down where Wilderness Trail is in WC but it doesn't seem to be anywhere near Inlet Beach after all.

Re: Shots fired in Inlet Beach in apparent drug dispute
This story causes me to ask a general question. I thought of this when I noticed two tennis shoes hanging together across a power line on North Orange in Inlet Beach. I further got curious when seeing black spray painted markings on the back of traffic signs in Inlet Beach. Is this area known for being a gang neighborhood?

Re: Shots fired in Inlet Beach in apparent drug dispute
Josh,
I dont think I have ever seen any of those girls in inlet beach. The most used sign the girls used there was from the very large southern Mexican all girl gang known as the Calente Locas. I didn't think any of those girls where hispanic.
