The most stressful day of my life!

So I take the LSAT on Saturday and I am so nervous about, in fact I would rather be giving a speech in front of 5,000 people. Any suggestion on how to cope with tension and nervousness, besides taking prozac or something. Heck I could never get a prescription from now to Saturday.

The first thing that I would do, is pray, pray and pray some more! It works! Then study, as best you can. At night, you will retain more, but don't exhaust yourself. Try to develope a "picture memory", by the following. Look at a wall, while putting the word or term, on it. Study it intensely! Then, when you're taking the test, picture the word, or term in front of you. If you aren't sure about an answer, move on to the next. When you come back to it, you may then remember, if not, move on, etc...Some people swear by word association. I've never been able to do it, though.

bsmart...you have received some very good suggestions here! Do you test well? If so, the LSAT should be fine. My husband took the LSAT YEARS ago and his scores were not as good as he would have liked (this was before people took those tests over and over). He had excellent grades and a strong resume though. The morale of the story is...he is now a prominent attorney in a prestigious global law firm*. Hard work, motivation (and some learned smarts) will serve you well. It also helps to have a good woman by your side!!! You seem very focused to me...you will do well! Best of luck...we need you down in SoWal, protecting nature!!

*I use this term to help me justify spending money on things that will make our lives easier....although, he still hangs our Christmas lights with our son...and they are so proud when done!!! We live in a neighborhood where people spend large amounts of $$ to have their decorations professionally done!

Make sure you get a little break with exercise - walk, bike, yoga - whatever. It will free your mind AND help you sleep.

It's all about perspective. Your life does not depend on that test. And even if it did, they'll let you retake it.

Getting in the arena with a hungry lion is something to worry about. Naming your first child is something to worry about. Having your picture posted on the internet is something to worry about.

Giving up your soul and obtaining a law degree is nothing to worry about right? Just kidding I know you are hoping to defend the environment. It needs all the help it can get. That IS something to worry about.

Thanks everyone! You all are the best! I met my best friend at Starbuck's this morning, he too is taking the test and we talked about how nervous we both are...so I guess everyone is nervous about a test that you can really only take once. I am going to go work out today and then I am going to take my mt. bike for a ride a nearby nature trail. I feel a lot better this morning and I had a confidence boost after talking to friends and family. Besides, I just keep telling myself that I will be in SOWAL for a few days at the end of Oct. and I have a warm feeling!

Hope you did well. I googled a lot of sites about how to improve scores on standardized tests, but didn't find anything worth posting. Someone once told my daughter that chocolate was helpful, but then my googles said chocolate was bad. So I duuno. Good luck!
