Wow. Awesome house and VT. Only $10M? This place would fetch $25M+ in Ca. or parts of South Florida!! Too bad I don't have a spare $10M.

Wow. That is absolutely stunning Kurt.
What's going on in the background of the porch views? The housing in the distance -- is that the new Draper Lake development going up?

Re: A new record price for me - $9,900,000
That is Old Florida Beach on the other side of the lake.

Just received a flier in the mail on a beachfront home in Olf Florida Beach. No price but it HAS to be in the mid 7 figure+ range. 491 Old Beach Rd.
Spectacular!
Is that the same as Old Florida Village? If you are lucky enough to be at the beach......
........you are lucky enough.

Old Florida Village is North of 30-A and Old Florida Beach is beach side. Locals can pinpoint it for you more closely. OFB I'm pretty sure is west of Blue Mt. Beach and East of Gulf Place.

We're not sure if we are going to close on the house mentioned here. There's something about the color scheme that my wife doesn't like.
I'm sure everyone fell for that.

Re: A new record price for me - $9,900,000
The asking price was $9.9 million.
After 99 days on the market, the home at 155 W. St. Lucia Lane in The Retreat sold for $9.15 million.
The gulf-front home’s selling price topped last’s month’s record sale of $6.39 million for a Southern Accent home in Rosemary Beach. Only 10 homes on the Emerald Coast have sold for more than $5 million. The house at The Retreat had the highest price of any home sold on the Emerald Coast, said Will Mayberry, marketing director for Destin Real Estate Co.
“The buyer was perfect for the property,” said Blake Morar owner of Destin Real Estate Company.
Most of the effort in selling a high end home is in marketing, said Morar, who used virtual online tours as a tool to allow outof-town buyers to view the 6,500 square-foot home.
Susan McGinnis of Coldwell Banker represented the buyers.

The seller is from New Orleans and owns multiple car dealerships there. Katrina was not kind to him and he is busy rebuilding the family business. I'm not sure how his wife feels about the whole thing! I think the house was finished just before the summer last year, so perhaps she got at least one summer's use out if it.

And it has the added advantage of getting that great view while sitting nice and safe back (and high) from the gulf. If that one ever goes up for sale, I bet it would sell quickly.

Re: A new record price for me - $9,900,000
Just curious, on sales of this amount or say 3 million + does the realty company do a flat sale fee or does the normal 5-6% apply ?

Depends on whether Blake Morar is an owner of the Real Estate Co. or not. The house next to it on the East side is very nice as well! they just overhauled it. Nice Bamboo floors and all!
