    Food Network Star

Anybody else watching this? They have really brought the "reality" into this show.

If it's not the Indian girl flipping out and walking off the stage, it's the Uma Therman look alike from Texas having the moment of her life meeting Martha Stuart.

IMHO, none of these folks are really up to par.

These are the best contestants they could come up with? The only one that's growing on me is Lisa the Vulcan.

I'm watching...it's no Top Chef for sure, but I think it'll get better as it goes along. Once they weed out the boring ones.

Lisa's growing on me in a good way. I hated her in the first episode, but I like how hard she's working, and how she seems to want to do some more complex things than the other contestants.

But then I'm not a big fan of FN these days. I liked it when Ming and Mario and Sarah and Padma were regular contributors, and now it all seems to dumbed down. Case in point- Sandee and her Semi-Ho kitchen of horrors. Her kwanza kake episode is far more scary than anything I've ever seen on Iron Chef, including the live ingredient challenges.

I agree about FN..they've come up with some pretty weird crap lately. I've been trying to watch more of HGTV, FL, etc., but that just makes me know that I should be hiring NoHall to paint my ceiling!!

Now, IF there were a 24 hour Anthony Bourdain channel, I'd be a happy girl.

Yes the Vulcan is probably my favorite right now, of course I'm in the same boat as beachmouse cause I couldn't stand her in the first episode. She needs to give up the heals though or she's gonna break her neck in the kitchen.

She's nice eye candy...well, for me anyway, but ultimately, her demise will be the inability of people to be able to relate to her. Seemingly, without even trying she comes across as being a little elitist...

Elitist? Not after that 3C's crap started coming out of her mouth.

I think she has a show called The Gourmet Next Door...but I've only seen it a couple of times. Seems like it comes on at a weird time...

I have always enjoyed this show but agree it has been hard to watch this time, but I will keep checking in to see if it gets better.

She did her six episodes, and they were good enough that FN was prepared to give her a full season. But she decided that television wasn't working for her or her family and at last report was planning to follow her heart and move with her family to France for a couple of years.

Hmmm...admittedly, I am an episode behind. It's on my DVR.

It was the first episode, something about culinary, coture (sp?), and charity. I kind of got where she was going with it, but it didn't work for FN. She let it go real quick. Despite the look I think she's actually very smart.

    Oh right...
The thee C's which she went on to tell about only two of them leaving Alton Brown standing there with a WTF look on his face! I totally forgot about that!

I'm still having trouble connecting with her, though. I'll catch up with my missed episodes over the weekend and will get back to you all with a rapport report. Now, THAT's witty typin' right there. I don't care who ya are!
