College Football
Just in case you didn't know.
Alabama will be hosting LSWho Saturday at 2:30 on CBS. ESPN College Game Day will be in Tuscaloosa on Saturday. Yep, Lee Corso will be there. So looking forward to that. NOT! I am sure he will be rooting against us. Also, just announced, Alabama/Auburn will be played at 2:30 on the 19th, on CBS. Thought I would let you Tiger fans know so you can plan your day like me!
SO, ROLL TIDE !!!!! and may we go 11-0!!!!!~If Life is a journey....the BEACH should be the destination!~

Re: College Football
This will be the fourth time GameDay has broadcast from Tuscaloosa. Our record on those special Saturdays: 0-3. Needless to say, I wish they had chosen another location.
Add to this fact the betting line has gone from Alabama being favored by one to LSU being favored by four and , well, I don't feel too good about this one. Our offense has been MIA for a month and I'm afraid it finally catches up with us this weekend.

It's going to shape up to be a very very interesting weekend.

Very interesting in deed. I knew College Game Day would come to T-town. It's going to be crazy. Any ideas for my sign?

You are correct on all accounts JB. I am very nervous about this one! However, I was for the Florida Game also and look what happened. I have faith.

Well, the Alabama-Auburn game will be on CBS in two weeks. I don't think AL had a night game all year. There's nothing like a night game.

Back to testosterone- UK won a football game!

Re: College Football
Hey, I've found that menopause and football actually go hand in hand very nicely.
Nothing's worse than your team losing while you have PMS. Now, it like "oh, well..."
As an added bonus, I no longer have to pull out my season tix and a calendar
and figure out which ones I'll *have* to miss (sorry if tmi - but the gals know what I mean!).

Re: College Football
Sorry, kathydwells. I was actually pulling for UA on Saturday. We watched football from 12:30 PM to 12:30 AM (EST). Well, not really "we" - my husband went to sleep before the UGA/AU game was over - he's an "early to bed, early to rise type."
My daughter sent this to me today. I haven't seen it before. Sorry in advance for the long post. I'm too lazy to make it an attachment right now.
College Football: the North vs. the South...
Women's Accessories:
NORTH: Chap Stick in back pocket and a $20 bill in the front pocket.
SOUTH: Louis Vuitton duffel with two lipsticks, water proof mascara, and a fifth of bourbon. Money not necessary - that's what dates are for.
Stadium Size:
NORTH: College football stadiums hold 20,000 people.
SOUTH: High school football stadiums hold 20,000 people.
Fathers:
NORTH: Expect their daughters to understand Sylvia Plath.
SOUTH: Expect their daughters to understand pass interference.
Campus Decor:
NORTH: Statues of founding fathers.
SOUTH: Statues of Heisman trophy winners.
Homecoming Queen:
NORTH: Also a physics major.
SOUTH: Also Miss America.
Heroes:
NORTH: Rudy Guliani
SOUTH: Paul "Bear" Bryant
Getting Tickets:
NORTH: 5 days before the game you walk into the ticket office on campus and purchase tickets.
SOUTH: 5 months before the game you walk into the ticket office on campus and put name on waiting list for tickets.
Friday Classes After a Thursday Night Game:
NORTH: Students and teachers not sure they're going to the game, because they have classes on Friday.
SOUTH: Teachers cancel Friday classes because they don't want t see the few hungover students that might actually make it to class.
Parking:
NORTH: An hour before game time, the University opens the campus for game parking.
SOUTH: RVs sporting their school flags begin arriving on Wednesday for the weekend festivities. The really faithful arrive on Tuesday.
Game Day:
NORTH: A few students party in the dorm and watch ESPN on TV.
SOUTH: Every student wakes up, has a beer for breakfast, and rushes over to where ESPN is broadcasting "Game Day Live" to get on camera and wave to the idiots up north who wonder why "Game Day Live" is never broadcast from their campus.
Tailgating:
NORTH: Raw meat on a grill, beer with lime in it, listening to local radio station with truck tailgate down.
SOUTH: 30 foot custom pig shaped smoker fires up at dawn. Cooking accompanied by live performance by "Hootie and the Blowfish," who come over during breaks and ask for a hit off bottle of bourbon.
Getting to the Stadium:
NORTH: You ask "Where's the stadium?" When you find it, you walk right in.
SOUTH: When you're near it, you'll hear it. On game day it becomes the state's third largest city.
Concessions:
NORTH: Drinks served in a paper cup filled to the top with soda.
SOUTH: Drinks served in a plastic cup, with the Home team's mascot on it, filled less than half way with soda, to ensure enough room for bourbon.
When National Anthem is Played:
NORTH: Stands are less than half full, and less than half of them stand up.
SOUTH: 100,000 fans, all standing, sing along in perfect four part harmony.
The Smell in the Air After the First Score:
NORTH: Nothing changes.
SOUTH: Fireworks, with a touch of bourbon.
Commentary (Male):
NORTH: "Nice play."
SOUTH: "Dammit, you slow sum***** - tackle him and break his legs."
Commentary (Female):
NORTH: "My, this certainly is a violent sport."
SOUTH: "Dammit, you slow sum***** - tackle Him and break his legs."
Announcers:
NORTH: Neutral and paid.
SOUTH: Announcer harmonizes with the crowd in the fight song, with a tear in his eye because he is so proud of his team.
After the Game:
NORTH: The stadium is empty way before the game ends.
SOUTH: Another rack of ribs goes on the smoker. While somebody goes to the nearest package store for more bourbon, planning begins for next week's game.

Re: College Football
BR- Love it cause it's true.
I can only image if I were on t.v. I would have no family speaking to me anymore. I forgot how wonderful college football was. Our tailgate was right behing the two ESPN stages. It was awesome. I could see Kfunn's bf (Kirk, who I also saw out on Friday night) from my chair. It was a blast. I wish I could go to the Auburn game.
BTW...I'm getting my voice back a tiny bit.
