Balloon Handlers

Ok. So to respong to Kurttifunn's request....here is the ballon handler's thread!

Balloon handlers handle the balloons! I think that you just sign up to do it and someone contacts you and they put you with a balloon. It's supposed to be really cool.

They encourage us to recruit people. Should we take over a balloon? Hmmm?

I think next year I would like to see all the Funns being handlers of the SoWal balloon!!! Let's have some suggestions. How about a shrimp!!!!!

Wouldn't that be great? Here we are at home enjoying our Thanksgiving morning and then on the parade they announce "And next we have that zany group of Funns with the SoWal balloon...blah blah"

I have a nagging suspicion we'd screw this up. A bunch of sunburnt drunks trying to work as a team.

A girl I work with has a card and it says something like...I could never hold one of those big balloons in a parade because I would be dying to know what would happen if we all just let go. So true!

Well, from what I read on another post, maybe we could just inflate one of LL hats that six or eight of us could hold.

I LOVE A PARADE!!!!! I so want to be a Rockette when I grow up!!!!! Molly has been barking her head off at the parade...especially the dancing ladies!!! I think she is looking for Kimmi!!!!

EDIT: Kimmi...can't wait to hear all things Parade and Thanksgiving in NYC!

What exactly happened to the M & M balloon today??? Will the handlers take the blame?? That wind today was horrible. I sure feel sorry for all involved......just wondering.

Hope everything is A-ok!!!! The parade was wonderful! My kids watched it twice!!

Oh Kimmi...I am so sorry! I thought of you immediately when the news broke of the falling balloon! 6 HOUR STATEMENT????? Hopefully that was with your employer and not the police!!!! Miss you and all the Funns.

Well the girls are ok. 26 and 11. One in a wheelchair. This just rubs the Times story (that was uber negative) right in.

I just hate that for all the ppl that work so hard all year, this is what ppl remember.

Let's see if this dies down. Until then, I'm going to put my head back on my desk and see if I can get some sleep!
