They say onions are toxic/deadly too.

Our oldest dog at a chocolate bar on Christmas, and we did not have to have her stomach pumped because it gave her HORRIBLE intestional problems. She is really a good dog and their would be piles by all the doors to the outside at she tried to get out. Never went on the carpet or hardwood, just other floors. Needless to say it was a very long miserable 5 days of Christmas. The worst was how sad she looked because her tummy was so upset.

Missy our first beloved sheltie loved chocolate as well. Twice she got into M & M bags and ate her fill. The emergency vet had us pour hydrogen peroxide down her until she vomited it all up! Worked like a charm!

P.S. Molly update....she and her purple bands have gone in today for their first adjustment. She has to have anesthesia every time, so I have to leave her. We are both doing much better with each trip.

Hallelujah!!! My tree is up and decorated!! I finished it yesterday, and I must say I am proud of it! I have enjoyed reading all of your posts about your trees and decorations! They give me inspiration!!! LL, you are just pitiful. Not only did the teens call you a dork, you are having tree issues. I am sorry. I bought a pre-lit last year, and it is so easy to put up. You should look into getting one, they are great!!!!

Trees are up and the stockings are hung, but no presents under the tree. Is it just me, or is everyone getting harder to buy for?

Thanks, I have a Boston Terrier, so I thought it was pretty cute too. By the way, he has his own stocking also. He's the easiest on my Christmas list to buy for.

FYI they are sold out. I can go outside and make one of those in about 3 minutes with a saw (much less than $24).

Charlie Brown Christmas Pathetic Tree? I am reminded of PT Barnum. What did he say? "There's a sucker born every minute."

Re: So who has their Christmas tree up?

ah, but would yours have "bendable branches [that] allow you to make it look just how you want, super pathetic or just kind of pathetic.", as the ad says? Heh. Just kidding. Buying a commercially-produced Charlie Brown tree from a national chain store is pretty up there on the Irony meter.

SJ, I'm with you, any trees I've ever had were in pots, planted after the holiday. Call me a humbug, but nowadays I usually just decorate the largest house plant I have, and am quite happy with that.

However, when I get a moment I will post a pic of the dogwood tree that's in my house, that just so happens to have ornaments, decoration, lights and mementoes hanging from it. I found it down in the woods during the holidays last year, stripped the dead leaves and brought it in. I saw no reason to take it down as it's so beautiful and striking, especially with uplighting. Floor to ceiling with lots of branches. I hang different stuff on the tree depending on the season and my mood.

In college I had a big, old battery jar with some big crazy sticks in it that I'd decorate every year.

Re: So who has their Christmas tree up?

I FINALLY finished the main tree today!!! The other trees will be a cinch, they are small and I don't have to do too much to them (just the lights and a little supervision), my kids will decorate them. I have a really small one I put in the office since I'm in here on the computer all the time (Sowalin)! Now, I think...................... I better start shopping!!!
