    Tree still up?

So any over achievers out there already taking the tree down? When do you usually take the tree down?

I might take the (fake) tree down by the time it starts looking dusty. Or maybe after, who knows? A pretty tree brightens up the unredeemable, dull month of January and I like looking at it.

The festive shrub will stay up for months, the big cut tree will probably be good for at least a week or 2.

Since the most prominent ornaments on the shrub are pink, sparkly, and alcoholic in nature it gives me another excuse to extend the display time!

This has been my worst Christmas to date, the tree comes down tomorrow and the vaccuuming begins!

Since we typically don't go out, the tree has traditionally been undecorated and all the ornaments boxed safely on New Years Eve. But it seems like I just put the dang things on!

This is my first year to not have a real t ree, and I put it up the day after Thanksgiving, not the usual 2nd week in DEc.
So after my grandkids left is morning, I box it up and then carefully boxed all the other stuff up. I never would go past New Years eve before taking it down,so I just speeded up the process.
My windows are open and and the house is fresh and clean....no clutter!

It will be up all of 2009--waiting for a certain tree ornmament made from a quart of Elmers glue to dry.

Took tree down today. Needles were making a mess. Didn't finish decorating it, so it was a rather simple task. I like to take the indoor decorations down the day after Christmas. But I like to leave the clear outdoor lights on until after New Year's. I think they look festive. Then if the Gators win, I will put up orange lights.

I'm taking my time this year and leaving it up til after New Years. We still have family coming and more partying so we need our big fat tree to stay with us a bit longer. the needles are just starting to make a mess though. but its still drinking water and its still gorgeous.

Growing up we always kept the tree up until after "The Feast of the Epiphany" (the day the three wise men arrive - Jan. 6th) - at one point growing up Mom started out with the wise men figurines across the room on Christmas Day and each day moved them closer until the Jan 6 when they were under the tree.

Well, my 14-month old just knocked my over. How no ornaments were broken is a miracle. I'll be on the street in about 15 minutes.

Funny how epiphany just happens to fall on the day after you go back to work. Can anyone verify that this date is correct?

Not only is the tree still up, but the presents, bows, and boxes are still all over the living room. We all got some really cool stuff we wanted, but Fuzz and I also got the creepy crud and haven't had the energy to do anything with anything.

Maybe the meds will kick in by New Year's...

I didn't get my small, 4ft., fake tree up until Christmas Eve Day
I'll leave it up until the kids leave
They have not even commented on how lame it is, bless them (I am not sure they realize it is there....)

It will be down by New Years for sure. Everything else is packed neatly away, it took me forever to pack all my little mantle/tabletop decorations, nativities and doodads.

Bless you...our doodads never even came out this year. We barely got the wreath and the door swag up.

lol...I did stick two large red bows on the posts on our porch, using velcro for lack of another material. They kept falling down. The third time I basically said eff it and decided they would look just as pretty decorating the porch steps. Then one of them blew away and is likely littering up the ecosystem somewhere in the Shallows.

We briefly considered cramming the tree, decorations and all, into the attic but it won't fit up the steps...

I say leave the lights up for the rest of winter! Mr. K put up some icicle lights on our pergola on the deck in Dallas. It looks so awesome, I am leaving them up!

I just decided on a new tradition: I am using my Christmas dishes through January...as I took my cup out for coffee this morning, I felt so good...so, from now on, it's Christmas dishes from Christmas dinner until January ends! A great way to get rid of January blahs I think.

The tree will need to go by January 6 though--or maybe not...although it's only half decorated, it is beautiful.

No trace of Christmas here. I'll be decorating for groundhog day soon. (That means I'm going in my hole and not coming out until spring.)

I know of a family in WC that does that. It still looks festive in July.

Sadly, I am just getting around to taking ours down. Luckily, it's our first season with a fake (and even recycled) tree, so it's not turning brown and getting yucky on us. Planned on doing it yesterday, but it was not in the cards.

Tree is down (but I'll be vacuuming up needles 'til July) and out the door. A friend will pick up the tree and sink it in the lake for fish habitat. The ornaments are in the storage box and that's about it. I had planned to finish packing up today but opted to fill in at work for the next two nights instead! Tough choice!(Actually a co-worker had surgery for colon cancer so please keep her in your thoughts).

We only put up a couple of strings of lights this year, draped through the metal railing on the back porch- it's our C-7 tribute, tacky but colorful! Last year we left up the lights all along the patio roof until spring. Since we found out our obnoxious crazy neighbor finds us very white trash (apparently there is a list of things he dislikes about our house/yard) , we are tempted to leave the lights up as well as the flamingos with their Santa hats out 'til Easter.
