like the crab...have bumbled thru most of this & received help from members...trying to place user name on profile page...also,can't seem to load pictures when it requests url- I don't know what to put there...also,trying to download photo for my profile page...probably will have more ? later- thanx 4 askin

You might be able to get computer help at your local library.

You really can't mess up on here. If you tinker around with different things, you'll eventually figure it out. I know if I did it, anyone can.

thanx sowal family(sunspotbaby and kathydwells)- yeah, the library would be a good place to go if Patrick Dempsey sat opposite me at the computer desk. also, thanx for the info on the auto attached names that appear when you sign up at sowal(beach crab). I thought maybe someone had met me in the morning before I had my coffee.

Hey there,
I tried sendin you a note, but you're message box was full. I left a message for u on my profile page cause I didn't know how else to get in touch with you. You, miss kitty, and scooterbug are a hoot- we need ya'lls action in the group(tech trek). The significance of a sweet potato vine is that each member of the group is one shoot. When you have alot of shoots(individuals), that continue to grow(contribute), then it becomes a beautiful plant(group).
Everyone has something to contribute and everyone does it their own way which makes it interesting.
I love the comments already- we got a bunch of characters on sowal.
I also started the group so newbies like me could get help with technical stuff and not feel like they were weird for askin. So spice it up- we could use a little cinnamon on the sweet potato!!!
Thanx for the plug on my business- still want to know about putting a link from my business on my siggy? Is that what you said? Still clueless...

Hey everybody- got a question- please go to my profile page(click my user name), and punch the sweet potato to access this forum. I'm trying to localize technical questions to a specific site so people don't have to go to the broad range of general questions and muddle through to find what they are looking for. I've requested help from Kurt about localizing technical info, so I know he will come up with something as soon as he has time. It would be nice to take all the former requests for tech help also, and include these, so people don't have to rewrite the book. In the meantime, can anybody answer my question? Everybody has a piece of the puzzle, so together we can get it goin on. Technical info is just a way to provide access for people to communicate visually and verbally. We don't want people to leave sowal because they can't figure out how to access things. Also, some people just want to receive help anonymously without feeling embarrassed for asking- (obviously, I'm not one of those people). If these tech requests got placed in categories it wouldn't take so long to get something done- time is money- trying to help people out so they can get houses, employment, furniture sold, etc. It took me a long time to try and figure out how to get things on sowal and I didn't access it for the longest time because I didn't know how to.

Just an FYI. If you go to the main forums page, you will categorized forums to include Rentals, Employment, All about SoWal, Events & Activities, Business, Goods, & Services, Dining & Food, For Sale/Trade, Real Estate, Questions, Tips & Feedback....etc, etc. It is not hard to find. I don't think there is a need to re-invent the wheel. Most people are happy to help you out if you just ask a question here. Easier and faster, IMHO.

In the Recent Visitor part of your profile page it will show the last 12 visitors to your page. It will also show you how many people have visited your page. I do not think there is a way to show who "everybody" was that visited your page. And, if they are set to "invisible" you will not see that they have visited your page. What is the need to know everybody that visited your page? Just curious.

trying to localize technical info for easy access instead of dancing all over sowal from questions to groups to my profile page- hitting the potato, etc.

I wanted to visit with the people that came to my profile page and say hello- thats how you get to know people. If people choose to visit the page anonymously that's fine- I was unaware this was an option until you pointed it out.
