Walton County Tax Collector’s Office Adds Open Government Page to Web Site

DeFuniak Springs, FL (May 21, 2009) – Walton County Tax Collector Rhonda Skipper has added an Open Government page to her Web site in an effort to make the operations of her office more transparent for the citizens of Walton County.

The Open Government page details the Ethics Policy of the office along with the Organizational Chart, Public Records Request Policy, approved budget from the Florida Department of Revenue, annual Audit Report and a list of current vendors.

“I realize the need, now more than ever, for citizens to have a level of trust in their elected officials,” said Walton County Tax Collector Skipper. “My office has always strived to make wise financial decisions and is always very conscious that any money we spend is the tax payer’s money. We are proud of the responsible manner in which we operate and feel the citizens have a right to know where their money is being spent.”

The Open Government Page can be located on the Walton County Tax Collector’s Web site, Walton County Tax Collector, under the “About Us” tab on the menu bar.

For additional information, please contact the Walton County Tax Collector’s Office at 850.892.8121.
