Chris Carter Family fundraiser
We had a great meeting Saturday at Angelina's to discuss the fundraiser. Nine friends attended, and we picked up a tenth in Shane, our server, and super ideas were presented and discussed. This has the possibility of being an awesome show of love and support for the Carter family. A second meeting is scheduled for next Saturday at 11:30 at Angelina's. Please plan to attend to see how you can contribute, in even the smallest way, to making this family's life just a little bit easier. The more people involved, the easier to make our goal a glowing success.
Thank you Seagrovegirl for taking the helm and doing such a good job as our leader.
For more information and/or to become involved, please PM SeagrovegirlLast edited by dmarie; 06-21-2009 at 03:42 PM.

We had another good meeting to see what progress we are making. Will have another meeting to be announced (not next Sat. since that is July 4th). Immediate needs are cash. Donations of auctionable items too. The car that cut in front of Chris and family that caused the accident had no insurance. I would love to get an auction site set up by next week so we can get funds to them soon. I'll keep you posted.

Anyone Have a Washer & Dryer to Donate to a Good Cause
I spoke with Chris yesterday and he is doing remarkedly well considering what he is going through. His 2 year old son, Chrisopher, whose legs were both broken from the impact of the crash, will be getting his casts off today, Chris said. That is good news.
But, in the midst of all this tragedy, Chris' washer and dryer conked out on him. If anyone has one in storage that you are not using, he really would appreciate the loan or donation -- everyone knows a washer and dryer are essential with a two year old in the house. PM either Seagrovegirl or me if you can help.;
We are planning the Community Fundraiser for the end of August. Will keep you posted on needs and details and dates for the event.A people that values its privileges above its principles soon loses both.

well thank you for that goodwitch, but i can't say i'm the best, i just try to do the best i can for everyone. when i got to chris's home it turns out it's the same chris who would come by my work to detail my car when i was 16. After my friends and i got the new washer/dryer installed for him we sat around for a bit catching up. we did find out what caused his old dryer to burn up. the vent was full of water when i pulled it off. when we ran the dryer i gave him i went outside to see if the vent was clogged and it is. So if anyone out there is a plumber or knows what they are doing your help would go a long way for chris.

Way to go, Jeff!
Your generosity inspires me. Thanks for all you've done. Come on, now, everybody! Plumbers?

Chris said thank you every one for all that you have done for him. He is so grateful for the washer and dryer and the washer is up and running.
Now we need transportation to Mass. so Chris can attent his wifes memorial. The family has not received her ashes yet, but when they do they will plan the memorial. Driving will take 3 days because of breaks needed for Chris to get out and move around to prevent blood clots. Anyone out there have a plane to get Chris and Christopher to the memorial????"

We are waiting on a web page to be built. The domain name has been purchased and we will be doing an eBay auction and have our own page to offer auction items locally as well as nationally.
We would love to have a fund raiser in a place like Seaside, but we have been turned down."
