OK...riddle me this: why put salt on the rim if you're gonna drink it thru a straw? Never drink a true margarita thru a straw...and it has to be in a true margarita glass, not a tumbler. You're not still a frat boy in PCB, are ya?
My mind tends to wander... but fortunately, it's so weak, it doesn't get very far...

I love Hussong's tequila myself-hard to find, in a hooch jug, fairly pricey and smooth as glass!

    I shake mine martini style.
Fill shaker halfway 2/3 with ice, add 2 oz tequila, 1 oz cointreau, juice of a lime, splash of fresh squeezed grapefruit or orange juice, healthy splash of 7up, shake and serve (no salt for me).

thanks for the help. I always forget the ratios when making a huge batch. the dargarita was a hit. BR - I was thinking this was the same recipe as yours but its a little different. will try yours next.

I have never heard of Tuaca before. Will have to try the Dargarita recipe.

You are right. 2-3 at most if you want to be functional the next day! It's a lot of alcohol to consume in a couple of drinks.
