We must have driven by about the same time -- 7 p.m.. I was traveling south on 331 and had no backup. Looks like wreck occurred on West Bound 98 right before 331 intersection and light. One small dark truck had front end smashed in pretty bad. Other than that, I don't know.

Probably another idiot turning left into the Tom Thumb.

I drove past at about 5:20ish & followed the ambulance & firetruck over from 393. By the time we made it through the light at 98 & 331 (headed east) the paramedics were attempting to assist someone out of a car & onto the stretcher. The banged up dark truck was empty at that point.

    That's all I saw.

Not this time. I was east bound and the wreck happened about 50 ft before the redlight on 98. I couldn't see much since I was turning onto 331 and there were a lot of cars since the passing lane was blocked. But it definately wasn't someone turning into Tom Thumb.

The wreck I saw at that location involved three cars- mostly bad fender bender action and they were in the west bound lane of Hwy 98, just east of 331.

Fuzz *almost* saw it happen - he had come from the west end and did not want to be a sitting duck in the northbound turn lane, so went through the intersection and made a U-turn at the second cut-through. He said if he had turned around at the first one, he might have been in it.

Apparently the folks in the car were OK, but Fuzz said they didn't get out for a while. He did notice that in the minute or so it took him to get up there, the only person who got out of their vehicle to check on the people in the car was the driver of the little truck. That bothered him...not like it used to be around here...

Now days, people are scared crapless, from getting sued for pulling someone out of a car, and most are clueless (untrained) of what to do in panic emergency situations, other than dialing 911.

That's what the good Samaritan laws are for:

Read up folks. You should always check the other person so you can determine if a call to 911 or the non emergency line is in order. Never remove someone from a wrecked car unless doing so would save their life, i.e. car is leaking a flammable fuel, smoking, or on fire. Most people would rather live paralyzed than not live at all.

I can kind of understand that, especially since there was a pretty hard smack to another vehicle. The driver could have been shaken enough that they didn't have a clear head to go check on others.
