Fundraiser for Local Family/Steenos at Ballyhoo Saturday

Some of you may already have heard about a local family, the Miree's, who lost their home to a fire a couple of weeks ago. They have 2 children who attend Bay Elementary and this is a very devastating thing to have to go through, especially right before school starts. Ballyhoo will be donating a portion of sales on Saturday night from 6-9 to the Miree family. They will also be accepting monetary donations and gift cards to pass along to them. Since they don't have a permanent home, we thought gift cards would come in handy since they don't have to store them and can use them at their leisure. The Steenos will be playing as well, starting at 8:00 p.m. Come out to eat and help a local family!!!

I must have been out of town when this happened - this is the first I've heard of this... Did they have insurance?? Although if they did I'm sure it will take a while... Is there anything else we can do?

I'm not sure but I assume they did. From what I understand they pretty much lost everything. I think they got out with the clothes on their backs. They have had clothing and other items donated but we also thought giftcards would be nice because it would give the kids a choice of clothing and things like that.
