    JobsPlus Mobile One-Stop Heads to Freeport

    JobsPlus Mobile One-Stop Comes to FreeportCity Hall


    Job services along with a Career Success Workshop will be available


    Defuniak Springs, FL – September 8, 2009- The JobsPlus Mobile One-Stop will be at the Freeport City Hall on October 1 from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM to offer employment services. At 10:00 AM, JobsPlus will be offering an hour long seminar on resume writing. All interested customers seeking employment in Freeport and the surrounding area are encouraged to attend the event.

    During the event, Jobseekers will be able to register in the EmployFlorida Marketplace database enabling them to search and apply for employment opportunities. Qualified individuals needing to apply for unemployment compensation via fluidnow.com will be able to do so onboard the Mobile JobsPlus vehicle. The Mobile One-Stop staff will also be available to answer questions and to provide direction for those seeking additional training, education and/or career support.

    “By bringing our Mobile One-Stop to Freeport, we are able to provide opportunities to individuals that may otherwise not been able to receive our services,” stated Mary Lou Reed, Executive Director of The Workforce Development Board of Okaloosa and WaltonCounties. “Freeport’s convenient location makes it easier for us to serve those in Freeport and in the south part of the county.”

    The forty-foot diesel, Mobile One-Stop vehicle is equipped with twelve computer stations with internet access via satellite, flat screen televisions both inside and outside for training and class presentations, outdoor canopy, sound system and a generator to provide its own power and is handicapped accessible. During the event, job seekers will have access to JobsPlus resources including job listings, labor market information, and education and training information.

    Businesses are also encouraged to stop by to learn how JobsPlus can help to provide services such as customized employee training services, mass hiring, applicant screening and Rapid Response services for businesses faced with layoffs.

    Just wanted to remind everyone that the JobsPlus mobile unit will be at the Freeport City Hall on Thursday, Oct. 1 from 9-2. All interested customers seeking employment in Freeport and the surrounding area are encouraged to attend the event.
