Many of his songs include the phrase that he "act a fool." Case in point with the Taylor Swift/Beyonce episode.

Coincidentally when I got in my car to go to work this AM, the song that was playing on Sirius channel 50 was the "Ego" remix with Beyonce ft. Kanye West.

    No kidding.

I was thrilled, though, to see that Beyonce took full advantage of the opportunity to do something good in that situation. Good for her!

Typical? No. That was breathtakingly bad, even for Kanye. BR is he done yet? Please say he has finally done himself in.

I have never been a huge fan of Serena Williams, and she got what she deserved after her appalling display, but she is far more palatable on any typical given day than Kanye.

What is it with all the outbursts lately? Why can't people just be more civil? Why doesn't society demand it?

He is a punk with a major attitude. Beyonce has class and did a great thing after Kanye dissed Taylor Swift on National TV. Taylor Swift showed increduble maturity and poise. Kanye, you have lost my business.

yeah, what happened to the video on tmz, I watched it about 2 hrs ago and now its a big red x.

i can't stand his music or him before all this happened. don't care for the wms sisters either.

taylor swift looked so crushed when he did that to her. the look on her face and her body language. Poor girl.

money doesn 't = class for sure

    just my 2 cents

Yep, people should have boycotted Kanye after saying Bush doesn't like black people and others who supported beliefs that Bush had the levees blown up to drown the black people etc.

Kanye is 'representing' though and it is so often 'politically correct' to do so. But unforunatley for Kanye, Taylor Swift doesn't have 'high negatives' like Bush had where people can score points for saying stupid and outrageous things, because others won't stand up against it as they secretly enjoy the ignorance that is spouted.

Here, with the Taylor Swift thing, maybe a couple people will opt out of kanye, but probably not enough people. Integrity is lacking in so many. And 'hating whitey' still is a pretty respectable gig.

Kanye West Interrupts Taylor Swift's Speech at MTV VMA's - Kanye West

The best was Pink's thoughts on him on the Today show this morning.

During an appearance on The Today Show this morning to promote her new album “Funhouse,” Pink did not hold back her thoughts on Kanye West’s outburst last night at the MTV VMA’s, calling him an “idiot, a waste, and a toolbox.”

By my calculations the classless outbursts have been going on almost a week! There was also Michael Jordan's verging-on-bitter HOF acceptance speech. WTH?

I adore Beyonce and Pink; never liked Kanye West; and my teens love Taylor Swift (and I think she works so hard, has talent, and has class for someone so young). Beyonce lived up to my expectations and Kanye managed to act even lower than my expectations. It's as though Kanye thought his vote was more important that all the other people who voted for Taylor Swift, and the awards are based on votes.

It would be funny if someone put a duet together of clips of Kanye West and Taylor Swift except that I wouldn't want to give Kanye any more attention out of this. It's best to ignore people like him who pretend to take the high road as an excuse to be mean to others. People like Kanye just crave attention, even if it's bad attention and somehow take pleasure in trying to burst other people's happiness and minimize their success. They just use any negative attention they get to reinforce their self-image that they are better than others (who are simply the ignorant masses in their eyes) and feel they are misunderstood (rather than just plain mean). Now that he's viewed as an adult who chose to pick on a teenager, he's coming across as what he is - a bully.

And Beyonce, once again, raised the bar for what it means to be a good person and outstanding professional.

Exactly, must be some weird astrological thing going on.

Here is an interesting commentary on MJ's speech.

I love this comment, "This wasn’t a Hall of Fame induction speech, but a bully tripping nerds with lunch trays in the school cafeteria."

As to Kanye, I was really hoping Jay-Z would take him out back and open a can of woop-ass for embarassing his wife on national tv.

I really liked Katy Perry's take on the event...

"F___ You, Kanye! It's like you stepped on a kitten..."

I think that about covers it.

Even if it wasn't Beyonce's idea, she was very gracious about it the way she followed through. You can't "script" a moment like that and have it come off so well without having a bit of your heart in it somewhere.

I agree. Beyonce looked stunned when he did it. Maybe Jay-Z had a little talk with him after the Leno show last night But MTV has been known to stage some really bad stunts into the VMAs (remember the Eminem/Elton John thing?)

    Tour cancelled.. Aww damn!

"I deal with hurt and, you know, so many, you know, celebrities, they never take the time off, and I've never taken the time off to really, you know, I just, music after music and tour after tour on tour," West told Leno.

I think it would have been better for Kanye's career if he never apologized and stubbornly stuck by his original assertion that Beyonce's video was better than Taylor Swift's. We would have hated him for it but we hate him anyway and it's hard for a rapper to recover from crying in public.

Just sayin and keepin it real, yo...

Kanye West is equal parts spoiled, alcoholic, and meglomaniacal. Like Roman Polanski his art becomes much less impressive as a result, personally.
