Palms of Destin

I have seen some reasonable (or at least what I consider reasonable) prices for some 970sq ft condos at the Palms of Destin Resort. I understand that it is not really on the water, but does anyone know anything about this property? Decent location, like staying there, etc?

I'd like to consider buying a condo in the area. My only experience has been in Sandestin, but the increasing HOA fees are keeping me away.

Any other suggestions for condos?

It really is a nicely designed complex, and it's an easy walk/bike to the public beach area in front of Silver Shells and Henderson Beach SP. Also close to a number of restaurants, golf courses, not too far from the harbor, etc.

IMO, the big downside beside the lack of direct beach access is that you're right next to a fairly big shopping center, and that the 'view' for some of the east side units includes the not-so-lovely Walmart loading docks.

There is a nice one bedroom at Surfsong for $74,900. And it is across the street from the beach on old 98. Let me know if I can help.
