Peru: Salkantay to Machu Picchu. Travel presentation @ Studio b. Oct 6 @7pm.
This Wednesday at 7 PM at Studio b., Joan Vienot will be showing slides of her fantastic trip hiking in Peru from 9/14 to 9/25/10. She will show the scenery and talk about hiking with a group sponsored by REI Adventures in partnership with Mountain Lodges of Peru. They hiked 35 miles, lodge-to-lodge, along the Salkantay and Inca Trails to Machu Picchu, where they had a day and a half to tour the ruins. Hiking elevations ranged from 15000' to 7000', traversing ecosystems from alpine to high jungle. This was a trip of a lifetime for Joan. Joan says traveling through so many ancient places throughout the trail was humbling and inspiring, and she is excited to share this experience.
