With one of its Boeing 737s in the background, Vision Airlines announced Wednesday that it will begin offering low-fare, non-stop service next month to two destinations from Northwest Florida Regional Airport.
ision will begin offering flights Fridays and Sundays beginning Dec. 17 to Niagara Falls International Airport and Miami International Airport. One-way fares will start at $79 to Niagara Falls and $69 to Miami. Flights will leave Northwest Florida Regional at 8:29 a.m. for Niagara Falls and 2:36 p.m. for Miami.

I had to laugh when I saw this story on the news- they were talking about how the Niagara Falls flight will bring more snowbirds to the area.
I thought snowbirds drove here in their cars- because they are here for the winter, not just a weekend. I have yet to talk to a snowbird that actually flew here!

Very exciting for me, Niagara Falls is not far from my parents. This will be the cheapest way for me to fly home for a quick visit!!

Woo-hoo! I have never been to Niagara Falls and direct to Miami just made Key West a lot easier/cheaper!

I grew up just two hours south of the Falls! Perhaps a trip to explore the old stomping grounds is in order...

The snowbirds want the flights so that their friends and family can come down for week to visit them while they are here for the winter. The friends can catch a ride in the snowbirds' car while they are here and we will all have to adjust our speed accordingly while they are out sightseeing. Originally Posted by Jenny Dargavell

I wouldn't recommend it if you've only got a week...2-3 weeks minimum from there and back. I spent 10 days just doing Maine and felt like 2 weeks would have been better.
For a week, I'd recommend a couple of days on US side of falls doing the Finger Lake region; and a couple days in Canada. My NUMBER ONE recommendation of things to do on U.S. side of falls is this!
