A few beach accesses are getting improvements

There are three (3) public beach accesses that will be included in this project. The first is located in blue Mountain Beach and will be referred to as “Shell Seekers Public Beach Access”. This access will consist of, but is not limited to the following: demolishing and removing the existing four (4) foot wide public beach walkover, replacing the staircase and walkway with a six (6) foot wide walkover, and constructing two (2) timber gates that connect to private walkovers. Refer to the site plan for clarification.


The second is located across from the Tom Thumb gas station in Seagrove and will be referrer to as “Beachwood Villas Public Beach Access.” This access will consist of, but is not limited to the following: demolishing and removing the existing seven (7) foot wide timber walkway, constructing a new six (6) foot wide timber walkway, constructing a one inch waterline to the existing stairs and constructing a shower. The proposed walkway will connect to the existing stairs. Refer to site plan for clarification.

Is this the current Blue Mountain Beach access at 83? There are several BMB access areas. Thanks for any clarification.

Thank you - I should have checked. Now that I have, I more confused. It says Shell Seeker is over by Waline and I didn't know that was considered Blue Mtn.

So I still don't know which BMB access they are talking of renovating.

Thanks, Kurt. Great Link. One of the Inlet Beach accesses has a fairly new bathroom and parking, and I'm not sure it's the same one as St. Helen's (because it's not in/near the park). It has a pretty flat boardwalk, too, which is nice if there's a hurricane that takes out the board walk stairs in other areas nearby (e.g., Seacrest).

It may be one you already mentioned in the list, but (I only looked quickly) I didn't see the bathrooms/parking mentioned (unless it is the St. Helen one and I didn't know it).

Inlet Beach Access has parking, restrooms, and lifeguards during peak season. Located at the end of South Orange Street about 100 yards south of US 98.

Inlet Beach is the largest county access and features three dune walkovers and 117 parking spaces. A 1/2 mile walk to the east is Camp Helen State Park and Lake Powell.

I am guessing they mis-labeled it Blue Mountain Beach in the bid request.
