gardening help, please
I just noticed the flowers in my cutting garden have spots on the leaves.
Researching suggested spraying with a milk solution. ANy other suggestions? I also planted a hydrangea there and now am concerned about it getting whatever is on my plants. Okay, I am not so plant savvy so guide me in the right direction.

Re: gardening help, please
Can you post a pic of the spots? If they are bacterial or fungal leaf spots, NEEM Oil should help. Natural oil from Neem tree. What plants are they on?

Re: gardening help, please
What do the spots look like? Green, brown, black? In clusters or here and there?
Here's a website to get you started in identifying what might be the problem
http://www.cdcg.org/pests.html (though there are lots of other helpful gardening websites out there in addition to this one). You might want to call your county extension agency and describe the specific problem because garden pest differ from region to region. What plagues my plants might not do the same to yours!Dolce far niente

I keep trying to find the "green thumb" gene my dad had. My way of still connecting with him since he is no longer here....and am even considering taking up fishing, an activity I despised as a child.People will forget what you said.

Re: gardening help, please
iwiwt, Those are most likely a kind of woolly planthopper. Citrus is a host plant among lots of plants.

Soap may work on some stages that aren't covered with the "woolly fuzz". Again the Neem oil, or Ultrafine Oil may work to suffocate them if you find they are too many to tolerate. Follow directions carefully and don't use more than it says.
After June or July you probably won't see them anymore.
