Approaching the Figure Exhibit - A+ Art Series
Thursday Oct. 21 – 5 p.m. through 5 p.m., Dec. 14
Public reception Oct. 21 5-7 p.m.
South Walton Campus of Northwest Florida State College
The human figure has been a constant and enduring theme in art throughout history. Beginning Oct. 21, residents of the Emerald Coast will have the opportunity to view the works of four artists with contrasting approaches to representing the human figure. The artists featured in this show, Charlotte Arnold, Linda Kernick, Sue Carol Knight and Marti Schmidt, each share artwork that skillfully captures the essence of the human figure in a unique way.
This innovative exhibit is part of the A+ Art Series, a program of the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County in collaboration with Northwest Florida State College. Using the human form as a common element, this exhibit offers the opportunity to compare and contrast works of different styles and mediums. This juxtaposition highlights the diversity of figural art, while also revealing the shared themes and connections.
The exhibit is appropriately titled "Approaching the Figure" and opens on Oct. 21 with a public reception from 5-7 p.m., at the South Walton Campus of Northwest Florida State College. It can be viewed during normal campus business hours through Dec. 14.Last edited by Teresa; 10-19-2011 at 12:37 PM.
