    CPR classes available

Sudden cardiac arrest is the leading cause of death in the U.S., so it is imperative for all to know how to react during an emergency. CPR uses a combination of rescue breathing and chest compressions to support a small amount of blood flow to the heart and brain to “buy time” until normal heart function is restored. The South Walton Fire District offers CPR / AED courses for individuals in the community and workplace as well as professional rescuers. All courses are scheduled on an “as needed” basis. If your licensing or insurance requires CPR certification, this is a convenient way to obtain it.

The American Heart Association and the American Safety and Health Institute require that SWFD provide one (1) instructor per group of ten (10) students. The charge for each course is $220 and the fee is divided equally among students up to the maximum of ten. SWFD does not profit for this service. Training dates are flexible to meet the needs of the group requesting the training provided there are available instructors for the requested time / date. Groups interested in facilitating a training session should contact Administrative Assistant Robbie Lund at 850-267-1298 for more information or email their request to info@swfd.org.
