Destin Toastmasters is hosting an open house June 5, 2012, 6-7:30 p.m., at South Walton Utility Company, 369 Miramar Beach Drive, Miramar Beach.
Meet members and watch and listen as special guest speaker, Mr. Cory Fosdyck, president of Walton County Chamber of Commerce, presents the importance of communication and leadership skills needed for today’s professional environment.

The Destin Toastmasters club provides a supportive and positive environment where members have the opportunity to develop their communication and leadership skills,” says Daniel Frankfurt, Club President.
After hearing from Mr. Fosdyck, guests will experience an abbreviated, sampling of a Toastmasters meeting that will include prepared speeches, Table Topics (impromptu speeches) and evaluations.

“Table Topics is one of my favorite parts of the meeting,” says Toastmaster and VP of Membership Wanda Siefke. “It is the time where participants are randomly selected to speak for one to two minutes. It helps you think and speak clearly on your feet.”

The open house will also feature a community service special presentation to a local business, communications and leadership award presentations to members recently completing specific educational achievements and a new member induction ceremony.
