Cooking School for Kids and Teens, Beginning June 4, 2012
Vicki McCain, Kitchenique Cooking School Director, is conducting a cooking school for kids aged 5-11, and teens ages 12-6, beginning June 4, 2012. All classes are 9:30 – 11 a.m.
“What tastes good to me? We'll learn how our taste buds and nose help us taste. A survey will be taken on what each child's favorite taste and textures of food are. We'll discuss measuring and the tools we use to measure.”
What Tastes Good To Me?
For Ages 5-11
Breakfast - Wake Up Foods Fruit Salad, Yogurt Smoothies and Ham and Cheese Breakfast Cups are on the menu. We'll learn how to peel and slice fruits, use a blender and whisk eggs.
Monday June 4
Wednesday June 6Lunch - Mid-Day Foods. We'll learn some basic skills that we can use to make our own lunch! Meat and Cheese and Peanut Butter and Fresh Fruit Roll Ups, Sesame Carrots, and "No Bake" Cookies all made with ingredients we picked out.
Friday June 8Dinner - Food for the whole family. We'll learn to make (with a little help) Oven Fried Chicken, Yummy Smashed Potatoes, Green Giant Salad and Nutty Buddy Ice Cream with Chocolate and Berries.

Fun In The Kitchen!
AGES 12-16
Tuesday June 5Breakfast - Breakfast - Kick Start Your Day! This class will cover baked breakfast recipes for Blueberry Whole Wheat Muffins; Spinach and Mushroom Frittata and Quiche Lorraine.
Lunch- Mid-Day Foods. Lunch- Go for the Green! Healthy salads and dressings will be the focus of this class starting with a Pasta Salad with Chicken and Broccoli, a Chopped Veggie Salad with Homemade Ranch Dressing and Romaine Salad with Sunflower Seeds and White Balsamic Vinaigrette.
Thursday June 7
Saturday June 9Dinner- Food for the whole family. Dinner - Dinner for the Family. Pan Seared Chicken Breast, Oven Roasted Herbed Vegies, Green Beans Almandine and Mango Blueberry Cobbler so good you'll make it for the whole family!
