Thread: Walton citizens for honest government

  1. Walton citizens for honest government

We meet every Tuesday at 5 pm at the south Walton campus of the NWFSC, room 119. Tonight's concentration is on educating voters and candidates in the voting/election process. There are intricacies to the process that are not always known or understood. Do not nullify your vote with an unintended mistake. Attend tonight and learn more about it. Then become an advocate as we are, for more and better educated voters.

Sounds like something that ought to interest all Walton County voters. Interesting concept: "honest government". Somehow that doesn't seem to fit Walton county.

5 will get you 10 that it turns into a grandstanding b*tch session from a few malcontents who never had a happy moment in their lives. While the few earnest people who are there just get more frustrated by that.

I attended the first meeting of this group with the idea of seeing just what their objective was and expected much of what you portray in the above post. Not only was I pleasantly surprised, I have attended every meeting since and eagerly look forward to tomorrow's meeting at 5:30 P.M. The people who attend these meetings are truly interested in the best possible government for Walton County. Their efforts are non-partisan and they do not all agree with one another. They are vocal and informative about governmental functions. I strongly suggest you attend one of the meetings and you may be surprised. If you do not attend tune in for live coverage at 6:00 P.M. on www.neighborvision.com . You will even be able to ask questions of the speakers and participants. Oh, and you can send me my 10 now.

  5. Yes we are discontent with the leadership of our county.
Yes we are complaining and Yes it is good for the county.

People who know want to see change. The group provides Education for everyone and guess what the voice is heard far and wide so peoples words are actually heard.

Had we done this earlier we would not have paid huge money for a theme song that we could have gotten for free and a perfect beach logo. What a waste of funds. The list goes on ......

We just want honest leaders who actually care about the people that they serve. The problem is that they have lost sight of the fact that they are serving. They have gotten way to comfortable and are serving themselves and their friends at the tax payers expense.

I can't speak for everyone but as for myself LIFE IS GOOD!! I have lot's of love and I smile often. I wish you the Same Dawn.

Dawn, don't be such a crank. It seemed like an sincere invitation to a concerned group. If you don't have personal info about this group, don't comment about them. You simply lower the quality of discourse otherwise.

  7. Well it almost that time so I hope to see you guys there next week.

  8. last night the candidates had some hard questions. This is worth watching! There are 4 parts. You can see a gimps of what kind of service that you would get if they get in office here.
