Proper Disposal of: Paints/Stains/Spray Paints....in Walton.

I am local and need to know where/how to dispose of these items properly? Some are unused cans of paint, some are half used cans of sparay paint, stains, etc.

I am moving and need to dispose of these correctly--suggestions welcomed!

The South Walton Mosquito Commission takes hazardous items every six months, this includes tires. I do not know when the next amnesty period is. Their # 850-267-2112. The county dump in North Walton also takes empty paint cans. Thank you for taking responsibility for your hazardous material, I can speak for many....THANK YOU!

You could call a paint store and ask about disposal.
Walton County Landfill can probably advise: Phone 850 892-8180

I need to give away or recycle an old television. Does Care/Share on 98 still accept them?

If it works, I'll take it off your hands. Doesn't have to be pretty. It's just going to sit at an outdoor bar, exposed to elements (kinda like me).

Caring and Sharing or Goodwill will take a working television, even ones that are not flatscreen.

A common accepted method is to fill the partially full cans with cat litter and reseal. Then your garbage collector may take them. Spray paint is a bit trickier, not sure on that one. Happy moving day.
