@ Kurt hahahah I like it. Well my dad's a dentist and his middle name is Alan...and we do have a short guy going with us...does that count!? haha
Yeah we are staying in Grayton so Local Catch, Hurricane and McTighes appealed to me more than Shades on the Loop and I'm not sold on Whiskey Bravo yet...we might have to try that out Friday night when we get there tho and see if it's worth it....The Tarpon Club is a must Friday night as well.

Cheeseburger in Paradise at Silver Sands. Sit at the bar and you can eat, drink & watch tv. My husband and a friend had a great afternoon there last year watching golf, eating burgers and drinking beer. Also, if you want to drive that far, the bar on the deck at A.J.s in Destin.

Yes you are right...Saturday is the main night I want to watch football since Bama/Michigan etc are on. McTighes seemed like a great place to watch football when I went there this past weekend. Anyone know what time they close at night?
Are Labor Day weekends usually crowded down there at the restaurants along 30-a or have the families gone back to where they came from and back to school?

Yes, labor day will be crowded. And yes, mctighes would be a blast. They have some of the best food I have had on 30A. Most of it is home made. Not kidding. Delicious and totally funn!

Red Bar! And you can watch TV there, so perfect!
Can you believe Michigan/Alabama is on the first weekend of college football? We are totally pumped. Why don't you play the SoWal pick'ems if you're into football?Last edited by Beach Runner; 08-22-2012 at 11:20 PM.

What about Steamboat Landing? It's kind of a local joint so it doesn't get the kind of crazy crowd that the touristy places get during holiday weekends. The food is good, varied and reasonably priced and the place is clean (very clean) and homey. Nice lighting. I always notice the lighting; it can make or break an atmosphere. Several TV's about and a pool table and a foosball table too, if I remember correctly. Would be a good spot order some apps and watch the game before you head out to a late-night hot spot.

Does anyone know if McTighes or Whiskey Bravo or Local Catch will have any specials this weekend for College Football or anything.
-
Local Catch will have $2.50 domestic drafts and $5 well drinks. The two owners are huge football fans and plan to blow it out EVERY Saturday, Sunday and Monday!
Adult playground equipment...it's called a barstool.

Well, we did it. Friday night we went to Whiskey Bravo...wasn't very good, plus they acted like they didn't wanna serve us and it was still 15 min until kitchen closed...come on. Then we walked down to Bud and Alley's and that was definitely fun as usual. Saturday we got up and some went to eat at another broken egg...chain but still good. Then we just ate lunch at home that day and went to beach and then went to eat at Local Catch that night for supper and to watch some of the football games...it was very good as usual also and a lot of fun. After that we just went down to Baytowne Wharf for the rest of the night. Sunday morning we woke up and all went to eat breakfast/brunch/lunch at the Great Southern Cafe and it was very very good...I hadn't been there in awhile! There shrimp and grits, chicken sandwich, and burger and mimosa's were all very good. We then went back to beach and went to eat at Fat Daddy's that night for dinner and of course it was very good because of the beer prices and the pizza!
Until next trip.
