    Ok.. you girls are ALL doing great. I know I said I'm in, but I am going to start when my kids go back to school one week from today (or yesterday) it is after midnight! I need to increase my water intake for sure and start some kind of cardio exercise. I just joined a gym in my neighborhood and have only been once since May. Again, when the kids go back to school I will have more time for myself and you girls are my inspiration! you all!

    I'm being shocked back into reality today with my annual checkup. So this morning I am back on track after my little hicccup in hell (amusement park). Hope the elephant ear, FF, and other awful stuff I ate doesn't blow the cholesterol reading on my bloodwork today!! Restocked the fruit/veggie/hummus supply yesterday in preparation for some serious work.

    Is it OK to eat the whole container of hummus in one sitting??:oops:

    Goals for today:

    Consultant coming today (my friend)--she's a bad influence....will be strong.

    Work thing after work....luau...hmmmm...lots of fruit!

    First Thursday with my old neighbors after the luau...vino will be involved.

    Fruit and wine can't be too bad, huh?

    Maggie will make me walk...I hope.

    This could be a really good day or a disaster...wish me luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Daily report:

    Consultant brought doughnuts AND sausage rolls. I would call her a bat turd, but I heart her, and she didn't know. I resisted--had Grape Nuts Trail Mix/Low fat milk.

    Lunch: Grilled chicken/shrimp asian salad. Probably more fat than should be allowed, but still some pretty healthy stuff in it.

    Went to luau--had pulled pork, about 1/2 cup?, fruit salad, grilled shrimp, 1 glass vino. Pretty tasty.

    Went to First Thursday. Had 3 glasses of vino.

    Didn't drink much water today..Dang, I've GOT to get better at this!!
    Didn't walk for the second day in a row!! Bad! Bad! Very Bad!!

    Wine = fruit So it must be ok. I try to drink a glass of water after each glass of wine. (dehydrate and hydrate -- so it all equals out) Tomorrow is a new day. You are doing great.

    Thanks!! I really didn't feel I overate--just hate that I didn't get a walk in for two days.... I think I'm kinda likin' the exercise---but you'll probably have to remind me of that many times!

    It's the weekend ladies- gimme some strength! Our heat and humidity (and heat index at 105) finally broke last night so I'm hopefully back to walking! (I have been cheating a bit in the mornings on the Pilates- summer is almost over, and I want to sleep past 6 a few times before school starts!!)

    I'm sitting her with the daily bowl of oatmeal....if I couldn't read SoWal while eating, I probably wouldn't get it down.

    I hear ya!! I've gotta get back to the walking too--pronto! You'll be fine on the weekend--just take it one HOUR at a time!! Sometimes, that's how I have to do it, by the hour instead of just by the day.

    As far as wine, my grandfather, bless his heart is 99 years old (100 on Halloween Day!) and he has wine or balck berry brandy every evening. As he says" Everything in moderation".

    Gramps is a trip! Yes, big family par-tay. He's been a Mets fan all his life. I have been trying to get him to a game for years, and the Mets PR people would have put him on TV, but he won't go. So we will try and bring some Mets to him. My neighbor worked for them as a coach, and he is till friends with some of them.

    Breakfast: Toast no butter
    Lunch: Mexican: some chips, grilled pork chop with salsa, a little rice, a few beans.
    Snack: thinly sliced "no fat" ham
    Dinner: salad with grilled chicken (this is a recurring item), mandarin oranges.

    About to walk Maggie.
    Crappy day at work--gotta work tomorrow. Crappy mood. Maybe walk will help

    OK, I'm back in guys. Got in late last night. Ordered Nutrisystem first thing - will be 5-10 days before it arrives. Then put together a gameplan for the 5-10 days before it arrives which is basically LOTS of exercise and LITTLE food. I really overdid the exercise and was too beat to do anything tonight but here's the day:

    Breakfast: Eggbeaters w/Ricotta Cheese
    Dinner: 4oz. Filet MInon
    Snack: Cheese Stick

    Exercise:
    Aerobics Tape
    Bicycling 1 hr.
    Walking - 2 sushine walks - 30 min total
    Abs of Steel tape

    Tomorrow, hope to ride my bicycle down to Bridget's for Pilates. I'm going to hurt like hell tomorrow

    I've been vewy vewy quiet following this thread because I wasn't sure how committed I was willing to be this year. I did cheat on my birthday but am back on track now. I am happy to report since June 12 I have lost 5.5 pounds and 6 inches.

    I am back on Atkins and I love being able to eat the things I like, and lose weight. My cholesterol is better than it has ever been by the way, it has dropped around 90 points. Yes, I said 90. When I was smaller but smoked, it has been 252 before. I have been off and on Atkins since 2003, and it was like 162 or 163 when I had it checked earlier this year.

    This is a typical day's meals, if a little grease scares you, quit reading:

    Breakfast - Coffee, pre-cooked beef breakfast pattie, scrambled egg, cheese
    No Snack
    Lunch - Salad - lettuce, bacon bits, cheese, olives with choice of chicken breast on George Foreman, turkey lunchmeat, can of tuna or hamburger pattie with cheese. Topped off with Sam's Choice Caesar dressing.
    Snack - Diet drink
    Supper (yeh I'm southern)-Same kind of salad but maybe chicken on the side instead of on top or a pork chop and a serving of broccoli w/ cheese or cole slaw made with mayo, vinegar, salt, pepper and splenda.
    Dessert- jello or cream cheese mixed with lemon juice and whipping cream

    I'll report in when I have lost 5 more pounds!

    Hey girl!! Glad you checked in!! Been missin ya! I've always had success with low fat before, so that's what I've kinda been trying to do since I do love my carbs. But, sounds like this is definitely working for you!! Much of what you list sounds reeeeeeaaaalllyy good to me right now--but guess I'll stick with the low fat for a while and see how far I get. I really think if I would just exercise much more (cardio, weights), I could probably get by with eating a lot more. It's just been so freaking hot--and although it's no excuse--I'm milking it for now!

    Breakfast: Grape Nuts with low fat milk
    Lunch: Subway turkey sandwich with no cheese and no fat honey mustard
    Baked chips
    Dinner: Garden salad with blue cheese on the side--about 1 teaspoon used
    Grilled shrimp
    Wild Rice
    Broccoli

    Long walk with Maggie and Mr. dd.
    About 1/2 gal water.

    Couldn't get on SoWal last night, so went to bed early.

    Goals for today:

    Long walk before it gets too hot.
    Eat Healthy.
    Borrow daughter's bike. She doesn't ride it anyway. Think I have to buy helmet though
    Water.

    Yes, I noticed you've been "out" but hope you're feeling better real soon!
    My son has his allegies something fierce right now. I guess that's not what you have if you're on the antibiotics.
