Re: SoWell on Sowal
Well I continued my unhealthy eating through today Paula, so you are one up on me. And I haven't exercised vigorously since my surgery almost 3 weeks ago - I've been having really bad dizzy spells and I'm using that as my excuse. Need to get back into my exemplary behavior!

I'm not sure what's going on here but the scales show I lost a pound!
I'm going with it though!!! I ate everything you could imagine and also chocolate pie for breafast every day until it was gone!

. Just wish my weekend jeans were not so snug.
Today was a good day. Cereal and milk for breakfast, salad and fruit for lunch, and Lean Quisine for dinner. A snack of cheese and nuts rounds off the night. May willpower continue tomorrow!

Re: SoWell on Sowal
I was good yesterday.
Stayed under 1000 calories and walked for 45 minutes. I don't have any wine in the house, so I won't be tempted this week while hubby is in Australia.
Also, we're guests of a new president at my husband's company for the SEC Championship (clubhouse seats
). He's a huge Gator fan (got his Ph.D. there just like we did). I want to make a good first impression and not look like a lard a$$. Note to self: don't indulge in the free liquour that'll be there to avoid saying something stupid.

Re: SoWell on Sowal
Cravings are driving me crazy. After a weekend of heavy eating, I spend too much time trying to find something to satisfy that does not involve sugar or lots of fat. Suggestions???? I think I will just go to bed and sleep!

Re: SoWell on Sowal
Anyone interested in running 3-4 times a week? I need someone committed to run with me, short of hiring a personal trainer, which I can't afford to do. This person will have to be diciplined which I'm not, unless I have to account to someone, I will talk myself out of running. I have gained 5-7 lbs., depending on the day, and running seems to be the only thing that keeps my eating in balance. I would be available after kids are in school. I am down to one pair of jeans that still fit, those of you who know me, and see me wearing the same pants, now you know why!

Re: SoWell on Sowal
Looks like this thread could use a little revival heading into the holidays. Guess I've waited long enough to share my before and after pics. Dare I admit it, in the before shot I weighed 290 lbs. The after shot was taken tonight and I am now at 165 lbs.

Re: SoWell on Sowal
Keep up the grayt work Linda. You look fantastic.
I have someone close to me who lost about the same amount of weight. She has gained back about 20 lbs recently due to stress of moving etc., so I know how you need to be constantly motivated to maintain the weight. I am going to be motivating here to get back to the gym after the holidays, and she is motivating me to stop smoking.

Re: SoWell on Sowal
WOW Linda....great work girl. You look marvelous dahling. I needed to see these. I have so fallen off the wagon this holiday season. I did so good last year. Did not gain one pound. This year, a different story and I am not going to tell you how bad I have been. I have to get back to motivating myself to get back to where I was. I am starting the Phase I of South Beach on January 1. I know it works because I did loose alot of weight on it. I just let myself get complacent and some of the weight has crept back on me. So, we all have a date here on January 1 to get back to that healthy eating and exercising!!!!

Re: SoWell on Sowal
OMG - y'all are making me blush so much I can't even quote you! DD's been asking me to post those for such a long time but I was so hesitant. Thank you so much for all the kind words; one in particular - I never thought anyone would ever use the word "hot" to describe me. Miss Kitty asked how I felt; I feel absolutely fantastic. I had several health problems (incl. asthma & disc disease in my back) that are pretty much non-existent now. I never would have imagined that I could reinvent myself at age 43 and be healthier than I was as a teenager. I've said it before, but if the undisciplined, formerly lazy me can do this, anyone can. The benefits are endless and I just hope and pray I can maintain the healthy lifestyle (and I'm thinking if I've been able to keep it up through the divorce negotiations, I can probably be successful in the long run as well!) Thanks again - I'm happy to inspire but I am so touched by your kindness and support - it keeps me going.
P.S. I was going to get my my hair cut tomorrow and do something radical, but I guess I'll just get a little trim - LOL!

Re: SoWell on Sowal
Congrats to Beachmom, too. I'm back to a good-enough weight (down from my high) but have 10 lbs to go before I'm in the "normal range" as defined by one of the websites posted on this thread. All I want to be is normal... Will losing weight guarantee that I'll be normal?

Re: SoWell on Sowal
OK gulls. So I saw my doctor today and he is could tell that I am not cheating on my yeast free diet because I am 15 lbs lighter than when I started this diet. However, he is quite upset that I have not made an effort to stop smoking and he rags me about this every month. I decided that I need to stop for my health. He suggests the patch or taking some kind of happy pill (which I am not keen on any kind of pills) to help me quit. I figured I have had the motivation to maintain this diet, but the smoking is a physical addiction, so I think the patch may be the way to go. I will need motivation, so please help. This will be my New years Resolution.

Re: SoWell on Sowal
Use the patch and pat on it like I did to make sure it's still there!!!!
I was so addicted to nicotine, everybody from the "old days" just can't believe I don't smoke. It was the first thing I did when my eyes opened and the last thing I did before I went to sleep. I smoked like 2 packs a day at my worst....I love the new me. I feel so free. It took a while to quit cracking the window when I got in the car and I would catch myself fumbling around in my purse digging for them. That is so sad.

Lordy OL.
Do you think there are enough digits in the Board program for that many posts?
Hopefully when we reach that age, we can just mumble into a mini blackberry or something.
Eh, say that again OL. I can't hear ya. Could you imagaine the funn fights?
I just tinkled. Too funny.
