October 12, 2014 by SoWal Staff

30A Songwriter Radio's "BoostaBand" competition is set for Tuesday, October 14 at 7pm! Pandora's Steakhouse & Lounge of Grayton Beach will host this year's inaugural and unprecedented event!

Throughout the year, regional bands have submitted applications in hopes of being one of 6 bands chosen by an anonymous panel. Bands must consist of at least three members, and perform all original music. There was no rule on genre, creating a truly unique and exciting event for spectators. The 6 bands will be evaluated by a panel of 3 judges.

The Bands:

1. Tribe Zion (Pensacola: Reggae/Rock)
2. Stacey Hampton (Fort Walton Beach: Folk)
3. Rebel Crossing (Panama City: Rock/Southern Rock)
4. The Flip Flop Boys (Tallahassee: Reggae/Rock)
5. Cody Copeland (Freeport: Alternative/Alternative Pop)
6. Josh Buckley Band (Dothan: Country)

BoostaBand Judges include: Ashley Capps, TV personality and nightlife socialite from Beach TV and the Destination Network, music lover Ed Jack of Central Square Records, and award winning singer, songwriter, and performer Season Ammons.

Six bands will compete for six prizes, and the winner of BoostaBand takes all. One band will win a recording session provided by Neptone Recording Studios, a paid opening gig at Marina Civic Center courtesy of Hess Entertainment, ten paid gigs with no booking fees provided by Worryfree Entertainment, a $500 UpBeat Music gift card, video production by 20/30north Studios, and a professional photo shoot with Modus Photography.

BoostaBand is hosted by Shannon Ireland, Owner and Operator of 30A Songwriter Radio, and Todd Sparks, Singer/Songwriter and Owner of Gulf Talent Services.
