Free for the public.

Arlene Newsome was born on a horse farm in Nashville, Tennessee. She and her husband Alan moved to Seagrove Beach in 2000.  In the last couple of years, Arlene has studied how to produce artwork with glass and resin on the canvases she paints. Arlene has also had success with her photography. Her photographs of the local beaches, flora, and fauna have sold briskly in the forms of gallery wrapped giclee's, matted prints, and note cards. She has been a South Walton Turtlewatch volunteer for the last sixteen years and uses those predawn beach walks to capture the quiet beauty of the sunrises.

The artist's photographs and glass and resin creations have been exhibited in several local galleries along the iconic scenic corridor, Highway 30-A of the Florida Panhandle.  Presently, Arlene's work is available in Seaside, Florida at Quincy's Art and Things, Affinity Boutique in Gulf Place, and Drift in Inlet Beach. Her work is also exhibited at the Mountain Made Gallery in Franklin, North Carolina.

Arlene was the 2013 winner of the Peoples Choice Award at the juried art show, "A Plus Arts" for her watercolor painting of an eight hundred year old Italian villa.   She is an active member of the artist groups Women's Art Network and the Cultural Arts Alliance.
