Topsail Hill Preserve State Park Celebrates Earth Day Apr 29...

SAVE THE DATE: Join Topsail Hill Preserve State Park for their annual Earth Day Festival on April 29, 2017 from 10:00a.m. - 2:00p.m.  Celebrate our earth on Earth Day with the park and over a dozen different environmental organizations and agencies from around here. There will be nature activities, games, animals, face painting and booths as well as food, music and fun.  Topsail Hill Preserve State Park is such a beautiful preserve and the ideal place for SoWal's Earth Day Festival each year!

An exciting part of the event is the participation in the #Trees4Earth campaign. With the 50th anniversary of Earth Day fast approaching in 2020, Trees for the Earth campaign was launched in 2016, with a goal to plant 7.8 billion trees worldwide by 2020—one for every person projected to be on Earth. The park and event attendees will be planting trees on park property as part of this campaign.

There will be tram rides to the beach and bikes, canoes, kayaks and paddleboards will also be available for rent.  Park admission is free during the event.

Please dress accordingly based upon weather conditions, appropriate footwear is recommended and bring sunscreen, insect repellent and drinking water. Refreshments for purchase will be available and water stations will be located throughout the park on the improved trails.

This program is open to the public and ideal for the whole family to learn and enjoy.  Enter the park through the main gate and park staff will direct you to the Clubhouse.

Park programs are made possible by Friends of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. Come out and explore one of the most beautiful state park preserves in South Walton, Florida. Follow Friends of Topsail on Facebook for upcoming events such as geocaching around the park (Wed & Sat), weekly Ranger Programs (Thu), Family Challenge (Sat), Dirty Friday (First Fri) and special events and festivals throughout the year. Follow Friends of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park on Facebook for updates on park events.

Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, located on the west side of Scenic 30A in South Walton, offers a wide variety of natural resources including 3.2 miles of secluded, white sand beaches with majestic dunes over 25 feet tall. Three rare coastal dune lakes provide excellent freshwater fishing. Although boats are not allowed, fishing from the shoreline yields bass, bream, panfish, and catfish. Lakes, pristine beaches, old-growth long leaf pines, sand pine scrub, and a variety of wetlands offer a bird-watching and hiking paradise. Visitors may bike, walk, or enjoy a quick ride to the beach on our timely tram service to swim, fish, sunbathe, or beachcomb. Gregory E. Moore RV resort features a (non-heated) swimming pool and shuffleboard courts. Furnished bungalows are available for weekly stays. A camp store offers a variety of camping items, as well as snacks and drinks.

Florida State Parks are treasures waiting for your discovery!
