LIVE music on stage at 30A Songwriter Radio coffee & music cafe... August 11 7pm to 9pm - Friday Night Originals: Bruce Salmon
Bruce Salmon is a New Orleans native, Texas raised musician, troubadour, and singer/songwriter. He’s a veteran of the Austin music scene, who began performing as a solo artist in 2012, releasing his first solo album “A Barrel of Monkeys”, in 2014. His music is steeped in the Texas songwriting tradition, as well as New Orleans jazz, funk, and blues; and more recent studies of ancestral folk music from Eastern Europe. In 2015, Mr. Salmon relocated to the Big Bend region of west Texas, near the town of Alpine. The area proved to be ripe with inspiration, and he began writing at a pace unlike any before in his life. The first batch of songs from this period is being released in July 2016, entitled "Dreaming While Awake". It's a very personal, intimate collection, recorded with his mobile home studio in Alpine, Austin, and Destin, Florida. All compositions, voices, and instruments by the man himself.
