Details
Come out for a memorable evening celebrating the opening of Escape to Create’s 25th performance season in Seaside, Florida. “Extraordinarily gifted” concert pianist Jacob Mason performs a selection of classics plus visionary new works by internationally awarded composers Dorothy Hindman and Charles Norman Mason. Friday, January 6 at 7:30pm in the Seaside Meeting Hall Theater (Seaside REP). Tickets $25 available online or at the door.
Special Guest Artist Jacob Mason burst onto the concert piano stage at the age of 13 after winning America’s triple crown of concerti prizes with Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 1. At 14, he won the national New World Symphony Piano Concerto Competition. With his critically praised Carnegie Hall debut in 2016, Mason’s expanding repertoire and charismatic performances predict a stellar career as a soloist specializing in the most difficult classical and modern piano repertoire. Now 18, Mason will perform a virtuoso program of piano masterpieces from Brahms to Ravel to Gershwin and include works by his internationally awarded parents, Escape to Create Composers-in-Residence Dorothy Hindman and Charles Norman Mason.
Escape to Create artists are in residency this January and February for the 25th year in Seaside. As a residency requirement, artists give a public performance as a contribution to the community. Often produced in partnership with The REP Theater in Seaside, their readings, screenings, lectures and performances bring outstanding cultural programs to the South Walton community. Tickets to performances: lovetherep.com.
