New Year's Eve Beach Ball Drop at Pier Park

Momentum is building for the highly anticipated New Year’s Eve Beach Ball Drop at Pier Park on Saturday, December 31 with the announcement of the live entertainment as part of the celebration.  Guests will enjoy family-friendly activities, including the nation’s only family beach ball drop at 8 p.m., and a New Year’s countdown at midnight.

Watch as the new, LED illuminated ball drops down the Celebration Tower to ring in the New Year and fireworks are shot over the Gulf from the Pier. Look for the new beach ball shining in the sky at night time leading up to NYE. Let the countdown begin!

Ten thousand beach balls, two firework shows, four musical acts, and 40,000 friends will be on hand to celebrate in Panama City Beach. Be on the lookout for the all-new digital lounge, the Snow Zone, 7-foot tall beach balls and more surprises!

5:30 p.m.: Barry Fish Band Performs on the Main Stage
7:30 p.m.: The Kids' Countdown to 8 p.m. begins
8:00 p.m.: 10,000 Beach Balls are dropped down on crowd Pier Park Drive and fireworks are shot from the rooftops
8:15 p.m.: Terry Brock & Friend's perform on the Main Stage
10:00 p.m.: The RiverTown Band performs on the main stage
12:00 p.m.: The brand new, LED illuminated ball drops down the Celebration Tower to ring in the New Year and fireworks are shot from the Pier.

Say goodbye to 2016 and hello to 2017 with a great family-friendly celebration at the New Year's Eve Beach Ball Drop in Panama City Beach on December 31. The streets of Pier Park are closed off to traffic as thousands of revelers enjoy free live music, entertainment, and good cheer.

For young revelers, there's even an 8 p.m. countdown, with over 10,000 inflated beach balls dropped from nets stretched over the street, followed by fireworks.

On the way to midnight, bands perform for the gathering crowd, anticipating the countdown to 2017 when a huge, glowing beach ball is lowered to signal the start of the New Year, and another great fireworks display. Time Square has nothing on this Panama City Beach NYE party!

During New Year’s Eve day and into the night, Pier Park will provide great shopping and dining options with the entire property open until 10 p.m. and select stores along Pier Park’s Boardwalk remaining open later. Popular dining options like Dave & Buster’s, Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, The Back Porch Seafood & Oyster House and Rum Runners Tropical Island Grill will also be open during the evening.
