January programs at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park: 
 
Jan. 10 | 9-11 a.m.
Breakfast with a Ranger 
Topsail Hill Preserve State Park invites you and your family to Breakfast with a Ranger. Join the Rangers of Topsail Hill to learn about the park, its history and to ask them all the questions you can think of about the park, its wildlife and anything in between. This program is ideal for the whole family to enjoy. To cover the cost of food, please bring $5.00, which goes to Friends of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park or bring your own breakfast. Enter the park through the main gate and park staff will direct you to the clubhouse. Breakfast with a Ranger does not require an entry fee into park. Outside tours canceled during severe weather.
 
Jan.10 | 1-2 p.m.
Coastal Critters 
Topsail Hill Preserve State Park invites you to a hands on program where you will learn what type of creatures can be found in this area. You will get to see various bones, shells, seeds, and other things you can find on the beach and in the woods. This program includes both sea and land critters, and is fun for all ages. Entry fee into the park is $6. Upon arrival park staff will direct you to the clubhouse.

Seeing the Unseen
If you’ve been out for a hike hoping to find wild critters but have come back empty handed this is the presentation for you.  Not all animals are going to make themselves visible to the casual observer. This talk will provide you with tools to enable you to see the unseen animals that inhabit the world around you. Through their daily actions they leave behind signs that you can use to identify them and sometimes get a glimpse into their secret lives. Enter the park through the main gate and the staff will direct you to the park's clubhouse. Entry fee is $6.00.
 
Jan. 17 | 1-2 p.m.
Surf Fishing
Surf fishing is a popular sport along the beaches of Topsail Hill. This program will teach you what types of bait will work, what times of year certain fish can be caught, and common fish you can catch from the beach. Enter the park through the main gate and the staff will direct you to the park's clubhouse. Entry fee is $6.00.
 
Jan. 24 | 2-3 p.m.
Alligators
These formidable creatures were once hunted to near extinction, but have made an incredible recovery. Come learn the full history of Florida's most famous reptile at this informative slideshow presentation. Enter the park through the main gate and the staff will direct you to the park's clubhouse. Entry fee is $6.00.
 
Jan. 31 | 1-2 p.m.
Campbell Lake Hike
Coastal dune lakes are extremely unique and rare worldwide. Come join us as we hike through some of Topsail's best ecosystems culminating with a stop at Campbell Lake. This is an approximately 3 mile round trip hike on a paved surface. There are restrooms and water at the halfway point. Entry fee into the park is $6.00 per car. The hike will leave from Tram Stop 1 in the day use parking area.
