Adventures at Topsail

Friday November 1 Star Gazing with the Northwest Florida Astronomy Association– 6:30pm

Come peer into the galaxy under our dark skies with the Northwest Florida Astronomy Association. This volunteer group will meet in the day use parking lot and will have a various assortment of telescopes with which to view stars, galaxies, planets, and other celestial objects. This event is great for both kids and adults and will go until there is no one left to view.

Friday November 8
Exotic & Invasive Species 2:00pm– 3:00pm
Come learn about our non-native visitors. You may have some right in your own back yard, this program will teach you how to identify and get rid of plants that do not belong. Lots of time and money are spent on eradication of these plants, find out what they are and how you can help. Park entry fee is $6 per vehicle, the program will take place at the clubhouse.

Saturday November 9
Breakfast with a Ranger 9:00am
Topsail Hill Preserve State Park invites you and your family to Breakfast with a Ranger. Join the Rangers of Topsail Hill to learn about the park, its history and to ask them all the questions you can think of about the park its wildlife and anything in between. This program is ideal for the whole family to enjoy. To cover the cost of food, please bring $5, which goes to Friends of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park to enhance the park or bring your own breakfast

Friday November 15
Bats 2:00pm– 3:00pm
These mammals fly near dusk and eat lots of insects. This program will cover bats in detail, what they eat, where they live, how they manage to survive in urban areas. This program will be informative for all ages. Please meet in the clubhouse, directions can be had at the ranger station

Friday November 22
Surf Fishing 12:00pm– 2:00pm
Surf fishing is a popular sport along the beaches of Topsail Hill. This program will teach you what types of bait will work, what times of year certain fish can be caught, and common fish you can catch from the beach . Fishing gear is optional as the park has fishing gear. This program will take place at the Beach Access, park in the Day Use parking area and catch the 12:00pm Tram to the beach. The program will take place once the 12:00pm Tram arrives at the beach.

Breakfast with a Ranger and Americana Under the Stars do not require entry fee into park. Outside tours canceled during severe weather.
 

Americana Under the Stars 
Every Thursday Night 6-8pm
Starting with an open mic at 6pm in the amphitheater Topsail presents an evening of music. Free admission into park and a suggested donation of $5 goes to the Friends of Topsail Hill. Bring a chair, your favorite beverage and enjoy some music in the park. This is family/ pet friendly and fun for all ages.
