Topsail Hill Preserve State Park Adventures in April:

Friday April 4 | 3-4pm
Endangered Species At Topsail Hill, several plants and animals are protected because of their rarity. Lots of folks know about the endangered sea turtles and beach mice, but this program will teach you about some of the others as well. This program will also cover some of the management techniques used to ensure the protection of these rare beauties. After paying the park entry fee of $6, park staff will direct you to the clubhouse.

Friday April 11 | 3–4pm
Beach Mice Topsail Hill Preserve State Park presents a program on the endangered Choctawhatchee Beach Mouse. They live in a fragile habitat near the beach and only come out at night. Come learn what we to do monitor and protect this species. After paying the park entry fee of $6 park staff will direct you to the clubhouse.

Saturday April 12 | 9-10:30am
Breakfast with a Ranger Topsail Hill invites you to a special breakfast with guest speaker Turtle Bob from the E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center. Turtle Bob will talk about the importance of our local turtles and gopher tortoises. This will be a fun and informative program for all ages. Upon entering the park, the staff at the ranger station will direct you to the clubhouse. Breakfast is provided for a suggested donation of $5, or you may bring your own. All proceeds go to the Friends of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park.

Friday April 18 | 3–4pm
Coyotes Come learn about our most ubiquitous exotic mammal, the Coyote. This program will cover everything you need to know about Coyotes, where they live, how they survive, and how we manage them in our parks. This is an all ages program. Enter the park through the main gate and the staff will direct you to the park's clubhouse. Entry fee is $6.

Friday April 25 | 3-4pm
Nature Walk Come shake off the winter cobwebs and get outside for this nature hike. Topsail Hill Preserve State Park Rangers will lead you through the various ecosystems that make this park unique. Spring is a wonderful time to be in our forest. Migrating birds, flowers, and animals can all be readily found. Entry fee into the park is $6 per car; the hike will leave from Tram Stop 1 in the day use parking area.

Tuesday April 29 | 8am-12pm
Surf Fishing Surf fishing is a popular sport along the beaches of Topsail Hill. This program will teach you what types of bait will work, what times of year certain fish can be caught, and common fish you can catch from the beach. Fishing gear is optional as guests are welcome to use gear provided by the park. This program will take place at the Beach Access. Park in the Day Use parking area and catch the 8am Tram to the beach. The program will take place upon Tram arrival.
