Details
Join locals as they paddle Lake Powell at Camp Helen State Park for World Paddle For The Planet at Noon on September 13. Arrive at the put-in at 11:30am at the public park north of Panama City Beach Publix. To get to the launch point, from US 98 in Panama City Beach, take Lake Powell Drive north; turn West on Lakeview Drive, and go to the park at the end of the road.
At noon sharp, participants will launch into Lake Powell as a group, paddle 1 mile northwest and west to Camp Helen State Park. Paddlers will come ashore and enjoy a simple lunch of cold chicken or cheese and fruit and water, spend some quality time on shore, and then paddle back to the put-in.
The mission of World Paddle for the Planet is for each of participant to pick a change that will better the way we live on this planet, and paddle for that change. Paddlers all across the globe are launching at noon in their time zone to send a wave of change around the planet. All paddle crafts are welcome - SUP, kayak, canoe, anything paddle-powered!
