The Inaugural 30A Craft Beer & Spirits Festival will be at Gulf Place on Sep 30 and Oct 1, 2016. Formerly known as The Destin Beer Festival, the popular and tasty event has attracted over 1,000 craft beer & spirits lovers to our area each year with 100% of the proceeds benefiting local nonprofit organizations. This year the benefiting charity will be the beloved Seaside School Foundation.

I know, it's been a long time since I wrote a fishin' report. My camera died right before I left for Indian Pass almost a month ago where I have no real computer access. I ordered another camera and was able to salvage a couple of my last photos from Grayton as well as take a few over at the pass. I made it back home to Seagrove yesterday and am back in the groove.

The latest real estate report for July 2016 includes statistics for single family homes, townhomes, and condos in Walton County, Florida. Single family closed sales were up a significant 14% for July compared to the same month last year. The percentage of closed sales paid in cash was up a whopping 71%. Inventory was down 2%. Median sales price was down 16%.

Plans are in full swing for the 4th Annual Fore Her Golf Outing. The outing hosted by Santa Rosa Golf & Beach Club gets off to a shotgun start at 9 am on September 30, and it’s slated to be the biggest one yet. Bigger, even, than the bras strapped to the front of the golf carts, all of which founder Amy Walsh makes by hand.

The State Parks and State Forest Lands in South Walton are spectacular. Protected lands make up about 40% of the land south of the bay.
We are so blessed to have such treasure all around us. The lakes, bayous, creeks, forests, dunes and beaches in our parks make SoWal a very special place. Incredible landscapes with coastal dune lakes, lake outfalls kissing the Gulf, flowering dune magnolias, soaring pelicans, dancing dolphins, flower-covered dunes - the wonders of coastal nature are everywhere you turn.

After 28 years in business, Pat Miller’s Goatfeathers Seafood Markets are still a main draw here in SoWal. On the Scenic 30A “west side,” in Santa Rosa Beach, the Seafood Market opened at the same time as his Goatfeathers Restaurant in 1988. The newer Seagrove Market location opened in 2000, giving residents and visitors on the “east side” of Scenic 30A a closer option for their take-out seafood.

It's been busy here at the beach ! The long week of the 4th of July had lots & lots of folks here and fortunately for me, a bunch of 'em are fishers. Red Snappers have been the main target for the past couple weeks but there have been lots of Kings, a few Groupers, scads Of Vermillions, some Amberines and even a few Cobia caught by my anglers.
