Not only is there a need in this community for people to donate their blood to help others in their health fight, Destin Commons will make it worthwhile for those who donate. Those donating their blood on Sundays, October 2, November 20, and December 18, from noon – 6 pm will receive a free movie ticket to AMC Destin Commons 14. Blood donators on Saturday, December 24, 10 am – 3 pm will receive a $10 Starbucks gift card. OneBlood representatives will also do a free wellness check-up including blood pressure, temperature, iron count and cholesterol screening.

An example of how giving blood can help someone is the case of young Benji. His mom stated, “Benji needed 19 transfusions after being diagnosed with Leukemia. Blood donors we’ll never meet helped save our son’s life.”

According to OneBlood representative Justin Malen, “Our blood drives at Destin Commons so far this year have successfully collected 196 units of blood. This translates to potentially benefiting 588 patients in area hospitals to include Ft. Walton Beach Medical Center, Eglin AFB Hospital and Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast.”

Make an appointment on-line at www.oneblooddonor.org and use sponsor code #16792, or come by on any of the dates and times shown above. For more information, call 1-888-936-6283. Destin Commons is located at the corner of Highway 98 and the Mid Bay Bridge Road.
